I know this is an old video, but my wife asked to for me to build something similar in our room, because there is just not enough storage space, and your video was so clear that just on the strength of this one video, you have earned a new subscriber. Absolutely the best video I have seen yet of this kind of built in.

Wow! That was awesome! I didn't know there was such a thing as Melamine paint. I also like how you went the extra mile to remove the carpet underneath. Well done Sir.

I really like the way you lined up the drawer slides. I made a template for mine when I did my desk, but I think your way is more accurate.

Great project. In addition to the great design and construction techniques, I especially appreciated the frequent mentions of and tips on avoiding shifting during the installation of pocket hole screws. It's always annoying to install them and discover a 1/32" to 1/16" overhang that has to be sanded off. I have used clamps in the past to avoid this, but I never thought of using brad nails or cereal box cardboard. Well done!

have you done a custom kitchen? I'd love to watch that vid if you have..this was a pleasure to watch. In fact, I think it was very addictive to watch someone nail all the measurements, paint...etc. I make slight mistakes everywhere and it drives me nuts!

@@DIYBuilds I've been in the construction industry all my life it wasn't until we started building our on house my buddy help me build it and I'll never build another not even a dog house but I have to make some drawers for some cabinets I bought 2nd hand I'm real picky when it comes to tight corners and levelness so it takes me probably a week longer to get something done whereas someone that does it every day could be done in a few hours I've come to learn your tools make all the difference for sure plus skill

I can't believe how easily your trim came off. In Australia there would be a whopping big gap around the ceiling where it "meets" the wall. Also all the cornices here are glued on , really GLUED on.
@DIYBuilds5 жыл бұрын
ya i installed that trim years earlier and its only held on with a few brads

I was amazed by how great the design is and the function of it. However having the lights wired like this way was a bummer only for me, you could have put them thru on the wood side just so you didn't have to cut that hole in the top of the night stand, and run the wires inside. Still great looking project.
@DIYBuilds5 жыл бұрын
The hole in the top is nessary for plugging in clocks and cell phone chargers.
