How To Make A DC Cable - LIVE Class

Building pedalboards and rigs every week means we come across some interesting issues that need to be solved. The most common is powering current hungry (or voltage) pedals.
Of course these pedals often come with their own wall wart, but if you're anything like me, you don't trust wall warts out in a gigging or touring context, so powering these pedals off of a reliable, pedalboard friendly power supply is a must.

I couldn't get this to work until I reversed the wires. Red to ground, black to tip. Why's that? I'm not a beginner at soldering but I am new on DC cables. I use truetone CS12. I tested on 3 power sources and multiple pedals and only reverse polarity worked. In other videos my understanding was regular polarity was what i wanted
