Yes gotta have the lemonade. Looks great! You make me want to try and build one.
@unit13936 жыл бұрын
Nice video bro. Just be careful ripping on the tablesaw like that. You should always have the piece you’re cutting off or the “waste” furthest from the fence not between your blade and the fence. Use a push stick to help your work piece along the fence also. That way you keep all your digits and have a little less chance of kickback

A couple suggestions to help with your personal safety. 1. Use push sticks anytime your work being pushed close to the blade. 2. Using the table saw the piece being cut off should NOT be between the fence and the rest of the piece. It should be on the opposite side of the blade to avoid kickback. Nice video. :)

How do you get five 1" out of a 2x4?
@TedH71 Жыл бұрын
Fair warning, if you use the matte enamel, be sure to leave it in the garage so it'll acclimate to the heat and when you spray it, you will not have the powder residue. I made that mistake by having the enamel be kept in my house then when I used it, it left a white powdery residue. It's very hard to get it off wood so I wound up using gloss enamel and I left it out in the garage overnight. Zero issues with it.

Wow, it turned out excellent. Your saving a fortune on the stain! The flag I made is 10X18.5". I have a manufacturing background and probably can get it down to an hour per flag. I would need to build a jig, however.

Awesome build. I'm thinking I can use a sacrificial piece to lay on top of the stripes I don't want burned. Just burn all of the other stripes in place and fully built. You did a lot of extra burning and I think that would get in the way of the glue up.
@PaganWizard5 жыл бұрын
If a 2X4 is 3 1/2 inches wide, and you remove 3/16 off each side to square up the board, that's a total of 3/8 of an inch off of the original 3 1/2 inches leaving your 2X4, 3 1/8 wide. So if you are cutting your stripes 1 inch thick, how are you getting 5 stripes out of a 3 1/8 wide board???

Love this! Bought the stuff to build them for my parents, in-laws, and wife for Christmas. Having trouble with the stripes. When I rip them at 1”, like stated in the video, I can only get 12 stripes out of 2 2”x4”s. Should I be going closer to 3/4” when ripping them?
@ToolReviewZone6 жыл бұрын
Wow that's kind of weird. I cant remember what the length was on the 2x4, but personally I would just get an extra 2x4 and keep them 1" as they will want to bend a bit when you heat them up.
@robdaugherty20106 жыл бұрын
Correct me if I’m wrong. 2”x4” = (actual) 1-1/2”x3-1/2”. We rip 3/16” off each side for a total of 3/8” removed. Leaving 1-1/2”x3-1/8”. If you are getting approximately 5 stripes out of each piece of 2x4, you can’t be going over 5/8” thick on your stripes. And that’s not accounting for any kerf on your blade. I’m honestly trying to do this exactly the same as your video, but I think you were actually ripping your stripes at 1/2”. If you think 1” is better, I’ll gladly spend the $3 on another 2”x4”. Keep up the great videos! Other than this one (confusing to me) measurement, this is the best video on how to build these I’ve seen. PS, noticed the Ohio plate, I grew up in Wooster.
