Yes, it is:) I started with a small portable circular saw and made some projects that I sold. Then I bought a Holzmann, which is an okay hobby machine. But then I managed to save up enough money to buy the dream machine. So it has taken some time to get here

Great idea! I love it! What I would (will) do, instead of just gluing, is to chisel the amplifier (middle block) so that resonator (hexagonal part) sits better inside, just for integrity, and than I'll glue it together. Something optional. Since not all the phones are the same width, I'd make a slot for the phone a bit wider and taller, than put some thick insulating foam, something soft, on the top and the sides (sponge or something like that). Soundproofing it that way. And small burst of creativity... Why not putting a round plate on the top of the base and a needle arm, just making it to look more like the old phonograph?

What great ideas you have! It is definitely something that could improve it, and how cool it would look if it resembled an old phonograph.

4:59 if you’re making batches all at the same time, you could make rings to clamp the outside out of plastic cutting boards to tap down and give equal pressure all the way around. You would already know the finished size so you could make several sets and put all the slats in place and as you added each ring, it would automatically hold all the pieces in position. When you put the biggest ring on, it would align the fattest end loosely into place and then you could get the smallest ends aligned. Just spitballing here. I was thinking of how barrel makers use metal bands to hold staves in place and was thinking hdpe would be non-marring and cutting boards are cheap and easy to find in thick enough sizes to be useful.
