I am going to use this video to teach 20 6th-grade students and myself how to make balloon animals. I would love any tips or tricks!

The dog is not too complicated so you should be okay with balloons from party stores. But if your students want to create more sophisticated sculptures, you'll want to use heavier balloons. Pros use "260" balloons from companies like Qualatex. These are available online. There are thinner balloons that are easier to handle and that are less likely to pop called "160" balloons. I know balloon artists who have smaller hands prefer these. To prevent popping, check your fingernails for sharp edges that may catch on the balloon. Make sure that you are using good quality balloons that are not old and brittle. Finally, try under-inflating your balloons a bit at the start so they're softer and less likely to pop. If I fell like it's tight and full of air even if there is a free space at the end is it going to pop and if it pops does it make a loud sound

Try and leave more uninflated end and then allow a bit of air to escape before tying it (balloon artists refer to this as burping). This should make the balloon soft and far less likely to pop. And I often wear ear plugs when working with balloons. Hope that helps and good luck.

Popping can be frustrating. Before making the balloon dog, check your fingernails for sharp edges and make sure that your balloons are fresh and in good shape. Also, to start, slightly underinflate the balloon. Hope that helps. Good luck.
