hey porcha! all the videos I've watched say dye-based inkjet colors will not survive being washed, and I don't see anything here that they're not doing (i.e. everyone using this yamation paper that I've seen applies the powder as part of the process and double presses). I suppose I'm just curious what you're doing differently when you say you've washed them and they are good to go, as other videos are showing the post-washed shirts faded, except for the pigment-based black ink. any ideas?
@ColorMePorcha Жыл бұрын
Hi @_roshi! In this video, I used regular inkjet ink. The image is still intact but has faded slightly, as I expected. I have since switched to using sublimation ink with this hack, which hasn't faded since this type of ink bonds with the fabric. @@ColorMePorcha ah there we go! haha I was really scratching my head. I am so many hours into learning but still not sure what exactly the “hack” is supposed to be? it feels like most folks in this genre of craft are just using things as intended
@ColorMePorcha Жыл бұрын
So, the "hack" uses DTF film and powder with sublimation ink to produce an image suitable to press on 100% cotton. With sublimation, the polyester count needs to be higher than the cotton count, i.e., 60/40, to make the best image for sublimation.
