How to make a fabric button with thick fabric / self fabric buttons living history

In a recent zoom class, I was asked how to best tackle thick fabrics such a wool when making fabric covered buttons so that it not only looks tidy but does not have too much bulk. As a plain fabric button - usually of a strong wool - is often used on breeches and some coats in historical costuming, I thought this little video might help.

Thank you! Fabric buttons can just be sewn directly, creating a shank as you attach ( in the same way as attaching a plastic button) or you can add a shank - this video shows one option - kzbin.info/www/bejne/a4SrmKqeqaqihtE
