I like the way you built this bench. Like you said finishing is up to the builder. When I build something I have seen others build I don't feel that I am competing with them. I am trying to do my best and how it turns out for me will be "MY" design. Thanks for sharing and doing such good videos. You can't please all the people all the time or some of the people anytime.

Jon ... I love how the design isn't rigid & evolves as you work through it... the colour & finish is definitely a personal choice & I can imagine the bench in several different & distinct colours, finishs & patinas... thanks for another great video , man... 🤗 🤓👍☘️🍺

Jon, I have to say, you have one of the best woodworking channels on KZbin! I try to make content like yours, but it's been about 9 months since I put a video on my channel, I just can't get motivated when I see all of the great content out there. I am disabled and I just don't feel as if I can compete, especially with this KZbin fiasco. But I strive to be a creator like you! I have been following you for years and you never fail to post something interesting! Kudos to you!!!!!
@hotrodhog21706 жыл бұрын
Keith, I am proud to be your 418th subscriber! I watch a sign carving guy and he says just get out there and make sawdust! Don't forget to turn your camera on while doing it! Don't get discouraged because it is very rare to be able to make a living at KZbin. The point is to go out in the shop and have fun! I am just getting some tools together and hope to post videos soon. Thanks for your service
@drumavenger836 жыл бұрын
Keith Hurley Dont get discouraged. Not everyone can be "one of the best"; that doesn't mean that your content still can't be good. Strive to be your personal best and have fun with it! I personally subscribed to channels for the person not just the skill. Best of luck, I will be checking out your content!
@ghotighthefish39956 жыл бұрын
No need to make videos like Jon, we already have him for that. Make videos the way it comes natural to you!
@disabledwoodworker6 жыл бұрын
By making videos like him I meant his ease and fluidity in front of the camera, not his type of content.
@JonPetersArtHome6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Keith, I really appreciate it. sometimes ( most times) getting started is the hardest part. When I don’t know what to say or do I just start cleaning the shop and that gets me going . Just subscribed

That burnt look is great, also really like how the stretcher connects under the seat top

Looks good Jon. At first I was thinking that the burnt top was going to be a bit much, but after the clear coat on top it really made the effect somewhat more subtle.

Nice piece and with that finish a great way to use odd bits of timber left over and hanging around in the workshop. Looked like you glued the leg and top joints across the full width, if that is the case do you have any concern about seasonal movement on the top causing an issue?Thanks again for another great video.
