The instructions on the container indicate not to sand between coats but instead to wipe with paint thinner?

I like to apply the first 2 to 3 coats without sanding and then the last two coats sanding with 320 in between coats… You can do what they say on the can, but this has always worked for me.

I like this jig with the pneumatic clamp. I agree about the metal sleeves. When I first saw the build on the TC channel, my first thought was 'metal sleeves needed'. I do have the Kreg construction material and jib. I build a large, really heavy duty wood rack for the garage using 2x4's, and 2x6's. The construction jig and heavy duty screws are the ticket for a project like that.

I watched Jeff make that jig. A regular Kreg jig doesn't penetrate the end of the board. That may just be a collar adjustment on your jig. Bill

Making a slide system that is easy to push up and locks in place to certain thicknesses of wood seems to be the game changer. Same thing would work for the old kreg, a simple slide adjuster with presets and bam! Drilling away

I have the smallest and simplest drill guide jig that Krag makes. It’s a single hole model with a blue plastic body. I suggest that you find and read the instructions for that unit with regard to making pockets in various wood thicknesses. It talks about setting the drill collar and also about the distance to be held between the workpiece and the front edge of the plastic body to get the exit hole where you want it. I believe your jig could be made to drill perfect holes in any thickness with the proper collar setting and a set of shims to adjust the work forward or backward. Hope that helps. 🥸👍👀✅

If you replace the Wood Drill Guide with an Aluminium Block .. Take the extra step and install Drill Bushings ... well worth the effort.

i like the pneumatic clamp is great. any thought of using a 1/4 - 1/2 spacer to lift the clamp up and clamp the wood slightly higher.

You can get drill bushings for specific drill sizes very affordably. They make sense even if you make the jig out of metal, as that will also wear out otherwise over time, even with metal. The drill bushings get case hardened so they last much longer. Edit: aslo not sure if it's on purpose in the thumbnail, but you wrote pnewmatic,
