Hi everyone, I went out on a limb here and titled this project ... Lily Table. Why would I do that ? ... A friend of mine once said a painting with a title is easier to remember than one without. I’m hoping the same holds true for this piece of furniture. Also this table was inspired by the Lily pad and Lily pad flower kind of flipped upside down. Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoyed the video. If you’d like to build this project click on this link for the plans. jonpeters.com/design-plans/

Jon, I don't know how many years did you work in this business and how old you were when you start that! but I know really good that just God inspired you to be someone like this. I can't believe how a human can do something like this. As I know you for more than two years via KZbin & Instagram I always follow you to the next project and I watch some time a project over and over but never lose my interest to watch it again by repeating the project video. Thank you because you still keep going to producing on KZbin. Alex

Incredible how much detail went in to what, at first glance, looks like just a simple round table with tapered legs. You open my eyes to the quality and craftsmanship that goes in to, not only your work, but also how I see furniture in general. And just how far I have to go and learn in woodworking. Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge.

I find the hardest part of woodworking is design. Most furniture made by hobbyists looks like it's made by a hobbyist...this applies to me as well. You, however, have a great eye for design. Great piece. And man was that some nice lumber....not a knot in sight.

I noticed in your video that you have a small model of what you were planning on building. That got me to thinking about building scale models of a planned project to get an idea of what complications will arise. Is this something that you do? For a table like this I was thinking of 1/4 scale, which would make the top 15" around. The joints would also be something that could be tried out in the format to see how the finished project would look. Is this something that woodworkers do?

Hi Jon, I’m interested in building this as a 72 inch table. Do you have any recommendations for how to scale the base and legs? Thanks for the great video.

Hi Jon, I bought your plans and building this table the moment. One question. My table top measures only 48''. So I'm wondering, should I simply build the legs and cross brace with same measurements and forgo the stretcher (gap on each side would be the same as a 60'' with stretcher) or should I adapt the size of the legs (width), cross brace and stretcher (length). I was going for modifying the sizes of everything but now I wonder if it's worth the trouble. I'd appreciate your opinion. Many thanks.
@JonPetersArtHome2 жыл бұрын
Hi Marc, try subtracting a few inches from the stretchers and see how that looks. I think it would be helpful to make a cardboard model full-size. Maybe only 4” and then make the top stretcher smaller
