How to make a frame for a Ducati

This is a very short summary of how I started making a frame for my Ducati Cafe Racer. It started out as a 2003 Multistrada, and after about one year I’m getting close to having the main part of the frame done. I’m starting to believe that I can actually pull this off...

So cool! what are the part od the frame called that the engine is bolted to? the small tubes that are at 90degrees joining the bigger tubes together? I've searched google but cant find anyting, were they self made?

hello.Sorry for the late answer. Not sure what they are called in English, but directly translated from Norwegian is «frame mounts». I cut those out of the old frame, and used them in the new frame. You can also machine them out of a solid chunk of steel, or weld a pipe and a shim together...

What kind of tubes did you use?

I used seamless hydraulic steel tubes. 3/32mm - 2/25mm and 2/20mm... Strength before weight this time... :)

Hello. Sorry for the late answer. The rake is the same as on a Ducati 1098. Don’t remember at the moment...
