I just made this stand with your plans. Thank you for this. I used mostly scrap that I had. I only had to buy one 2x4 at the store and the hooks. So very easy. It took me about 90 minutes to complete. I haven't painted it yet. That will be a project for another day. I have looked over some of your other videos. You are very skilled and creative, and your manner is very calm and reassuring. Thanks again.

Nice and simple to make and very sturdy. You could possibly make this at home out of scrap wood. Even if you had to buy a few cuts, it would be a fraction of the price of some of the repair stands on sale nowadays... 👍🏻👍🏻

I absolutely love this bike stand, it came out great. Come spring time I’m gonna definitely copy this and build one for myself and one for my wife, the other one you built I copied and that’s what’s holding up my bike now, great video Phil, when I get a notification from KZbin saying you have a new video I can’t click on it fast enough

Thanks a lot Christ I really appreciate you checking out my videos. I was quite please myself with how this stand turned out. It's really sturdy and useful. I couldn't find one I liked on the internet so I came up with this simple design myself.

Thanks Angus! I tend to always be mixing metric and imperial I can't help it I think because I learnt both at school. Also, I have probably watched quite a few American woodworking videos so 2x4 is stuck in my head 😄

Great Stand I'm considering making one for my E mountain bike. I guess it would have to be stronger as E bikes can range up to 80 kg.
@PhillWyattProjects Жыл бұрын
Cheers 👍🏻 yea I guess you could swap out those 2 hooks for maybe some metal brackets. The wooden frame is very strong apart from those 2 hooks.

wonderful throughout, and thanks! I've an old Sp. Roubaix, with a sloping-to-seatpost top tube, as is common in Road Bikes. My thought was to mount those vinyl-coated Hooks at whatever Angle it takes to make the bike's top tube sit Horizontal. So the wheel hubs are horizontal, too! :-) Maybe its just me, but why not try it that way. Hmmmm...maybe find a way to Rotate that back mount board on its post??? Know here is SW FL, USA it is too-dang HOT to cycle, oohhhh wweeee

I have needed,a bike stand,numerous times,but always thought they were pricey for what they are. The cheapest,£30. So I will make one of these,immediately,for replacing the back brake blocks. Got to raise the crank,and wheel.

How would I adjust hooks for girls bike
@PhillWyattProjects3 жыл бұрын
Good question 🤔 it should still work with a sloping bar. Maybe position the left hook a few inches lower than the right to balance out the frame.

hi will this be alright for a electric bike 34kgs

Now I assume this only works on a bike with a straight cross bar and not one where the crossbar is angled down at say 30 degrees.
@PhillWyattProjects2 жыл бұрын
I think it would still work. The hooks have rubber grip and they hold the bike firmly.
