lovely clear video, in the girth section, could I put a D on the top as in my competion obedience training with my collies, I often use both the D rings in the harness my one dog had, it was webbing, her daughter chewed through it, just thinking this might be a good idea, then I could show my obedience friends it, the ring on the front, we used to bring the dog on to the left leg, and the one at the back to stop the dog coming forward, actually thinking about this, could put D rings and another set of buckle in either side, boy this has given me some ideas for a training harness, thank you for this inital idea

With my dogs, having to get down low enough to put that on them would result in me getting majorly slimed... :) Remember the movie "Turner and Hooch"? Yeah, that sort of slimed... :)

Thank you for the video! Excited to try. What size paracord should I use for a small puppy (about 5lbs)? Would 95 paracord be too thin? I thought that the 550 would be too big for her.
@Paracordingaround3 жыл бұрын
Hi, I would say 95 would work well for a puppy.

Use a metal buckle for strong dog's, I had to for my native american village dog, the plastic break's too easy for her XD and I laced some small chain threw in case she chews it. Edit: she is 85lbs and can pull up to 164 at 10months.

hi thanks for a useful tutorial. How many inches did you use? I need harness for adult french bulldog.
@Paracordingaround7 жыл бұрын
+rita shafi hi thank you, the amount of cord you will need depends on the size of your dog, i use about 1ft of cord per inch in length. Measure around your dogs girth just behind your dogs legs (keep 2 fngers inside the measure for breathing room) then the same for the chest. Add an extra 2ft of cord incase you end up short. I also suggest that you try the harness on your dog before cutting off the excess and singeing the end, that way you can easily adjust if needed. Hope that helps!! Let me know how you go!

Do you think this design would be ok with a 42 pound Australian Shepherd. Or would it break?

Hi, i have an 18kg kelpie and have no problem with it, front pull harnesses are designed to stop a dog from pulling because when they pull, the harness forces them to go sideways instead of straight, so the dog will quickly learn that if they pull they will any go direction except where they want to go so if they stop pulling they will be able to go where they want, it took my kelpie about 10mins into her first walking whearing it to firgure it out. Paracord is also extremely strong and has a breaking strength of about 200kg. Hope this helps

Luckily, there is no narration, so you can just mute the music and play your choice of music in the background instead. Everything he is trying to convey is in captions so the sound is not needed. What sucks is when they have obnoxious music and they also have narration, so if you mute the sound, you lose the possibly important information in the narration. Not everyone has a good speaking voice and some people might even want to maintain a semblance of anonymity by not putting their voice on the internet, so that's completely understood. Some people might be from countries where they might speak English, but their accent is so strong that people outside of their own area have difficulty understanding them. For example, if this video had been done by someone with a thick Indian accent, many people would have just skipped it just because it is difficult to understand. Many of the Indians that I have known might have good English writing skills, but are rather difficult to understand when they are saying the exact thing that they wrote. It's best to know your limits and work around them...

Those plastic buckles are available at Walmart. Not to buy; just cut one off a shopping cart.
