Haha, nice to see you out and about Mr. Hestad 🤩🎥 There is more to this than most people understand, and I think I could give you some extra pointers when you have tried and "failed" a couple of times. You really need to try it out and find your own way before you get to many tips. Or else it will only be overwhelming and you don't see the point so clear. I really liked this, you managed to take us with you step by step on how much or little equipment you need for making a good motorcycle video. And man I hope that the weather turns a little so we can take an overnighter at the coast this year. We really need to. 🤣 Cheers ☕

@@tshansen I forgot to mention in the "conclusion" part of the video my experiences recording on the trip - it was definitely more difficult than I thought and I would not call it a success 🥴 I got too dark footage from my action cam, struggled with wind noise even inside the helmet, and the mic was too sensitive and/or too close to my mouth inside helmet (I hate poor audio quality) 😝I tried to camouflage the poor video quality with a moody film lut and some blurry (motion trails) fast forward 😓 Well, at least I learned a lot, next time will be better! At least it was great fun, and the bike performed well - much better than the camera man 😅 We only need a couple of "warmish" October days, without rain or snow, and we're good to go! 🤞

It doesn't look good weather wise for a fall trip. But would be great to join you on a bit of your trip if it does get warmer. I got a 1st Gen Transalp, live just south of Ålesund

That is cool, let's see if it happens this fall or if we have to pospone it to the spring - I'll post updates on how it goes with the plans on my community posts section here on YoTube!

Being from the Southern Hemisphere (I live in the Blue Mountains just outside of Sydney, Australia), I always forget that there are countries in the world which have seasons! Right now the Cicadas are hatching and we are looking forward to bush walks and Barbecues. It will start to get as hot as hell here in a few weeks. Even in Winter it never really gets below zero. As always, I really enjoy the high production value of your uploads, you clearly take care there!

I appreciate that 🙏 It's fun to try out new stuff, and sometimes it ends up in a video 😊

Very professional! Great to see the Elefant on the road and the new dash arrangement looks great - very clear. I bet you could have 3D printed a helmet mount as good as the one you bought, (maybe a side-business for you! 💲💲💲). Roll on spring.

Thanks 🙏 Yes, I was a bit surprised it was 3D printed. Probably the best I did not know, I have enough projects on my list 😅

I wish instructions always came as a QR-code linked to a KZbin instruction video 😌

Great video. Part of my day job is recording race cars for video game audio. We use one of those hand held zoom recorders in a very high bit depth. If you set the gains low, you have huge dynamic ranges and can even capture (God forbid) a crash. Consider something like that with a mic at the engine, tail pipe and low on the front forks to capture road noise. That would add a lot of dynamics to your video, without too much effort
@kihestad3 ай бұрын
That is a very cool job you got there 🤩 I have to dive more into the settings of my RØDE Wireless Go II, it has 32 bit float recording internally and possibility to set gain to -12. I also just gotta remember to not speak very load, as the mic is just millimeters from my mouth 😁

Well. Now you will have time to find other things to fix on the bike for the spring. Maybe build a luggage rack for the bike. I wanted ask if you won't have troubles to pass the technical inspection after the dashboard modification? Or do they not care about the such modifications on the bike? And lastly, thanks to you, now I have Suzuki Dr 650SE from 1996 in my garage. Maybe next spring I will go on a road trip too.

That is true - I have plenty of improvments tasks as well on my task list 😁 I don't really know if there are any regulations when it comes to fitting aftermarket speedometers in veichles here in Norway. Never heard about it, but I have not investigated it either. DR650 is a legendary bike 😍 You should absolutely set aside some days for an adventure to the spring!!!
