Hey guys, in today's video, I'm going to be showing you how to create a game over screen in which you can; retry, quit or return to the main menu from. This can happen when you die, a timer runs out, or whenever you would like your game to end.

Hello. I've tried following this tutorial, and it works. But I'm trying to make a car game, where if the car (still using the default sedan) falls off a high road onto the landscape below, then it's game over screen. Do you know how? I've tried using event hit / overlap / trigger box but didn't work.

Finally got to a point in my game where I needed to do this. It works, but I keep having to click the buttons twice to get them to work and the mouse cursor is on screen when I restart. I'll keep trying to see why and post back. Using UE5.0.2 EDIT: "Set Input Mode UI Only" fixed this. I saw it in your main menu tutorial.

Questions: If the target destroyed is not the thirdpersoncharacter but its another object(building actor). When the building is destroyed return to main menu. How to make the widget show on the thirdpersoncharacter?

Great Tutorial! I am a bit confused to how to set this as to when a character dies? I've set a killzone for my player to fall off and die which will prompt the respawn menu, do you know what I would need to put instead of 'key pressed'? Many thanks!

Cast it to the viewport with a create widget node, set the widget to the Game Over screen of course. Make a custom event where the player movement becomes disabled (and optionally camera boom as well if you would like). This is helpful for adding animations once the game over is triggered.

Hi, you should be able to do this very easily, where I press a key, you can just have a branch to see if the health is less than or equal to 0, and that is when it creates this screen. And you can plug the branch into the code where you decrease the health. Hope this helps :)

hello thanks for the nice video! Unfortunately if you try exiting an android game with shipping mode (not development mode because it is for app store) the game is not stopping using "quit game" or "exit console command".. Have you got any advise for this? :)

hey i need some help! so i've got 3 levels. If i die in the third level, the game will restart in the level i've put in the event graph only. That's mean if put level1, the game will go back to level 1 from level 3.

Hey, what you could do is have a string variable and set this to be the name of the level you are in, i.e. level 3 when you die. You can do this via a node called "Get Current Level Name" and set this to be the string variable. Then input this string variable into the "Open Level" node. Hope this helps :)
