Wow, Katie, thanks for showing how you do this. I'm 70 years old and when I was 22 I learned how to silversmith. A class was held by the minister of the local methodist church. I went to the group for over a year learning. Then I continued on, on my own for years. As a class project, I even taught my two children how to make a ring. My tools have been unused now for about 30 years! It was so fun to watch you. Your methods and supplies are much better than what I had. I didn't have a ring chart I just hammered out the size on the mandrel. Your rings are so beautiful! Oh, and I just want to add that I was taught to put a very small amount of very fine sawdust under the stone before you seal it in with the bezel. Have you ever heard of that? Like I said, this was many years ago where I learned from an old minister.

One of my sterling silver rings has a break in it. It simply has a split underneath the silver band on the round part nobody even sees. To me, it looked like a simple fix but the jeweler I brought it to said he couldn't fix it because he was afraid he'd burn the stone part on top. It's porcelain, hand painted from Holland, not a gem. I still want it fixed.

Wouldn’t these make a perfect gift for bridesmaids gifts or graduation friend gifts! Such a great video. I wish I knew how to do all of this. My diamonds were put in a most hideous lug nut ring setting after I was married for about ten years. We’ve always regretted it and wish we could put it back in the original setting. Tough to find someone to trust again in my area. I’ve thought of taking classes so I could do it myself!

It'd be easy to concentrate so much on what you're doing that you lose yourself in the work and the day is gone before you know it. I just love the ring I ordered. You're such a lovely artisan and I cannot wait to see how you grow. You also sent me some loose moonstones as I said I had been looking for some. I have one that's even shaped like a moon. I may try to shape some guitar wire around it that I have lying around. Idk how I would find a proper setting? I also got a dremmel and will try polishing some rocks I got from our local creek though they don't look like anything special it sure looks like fun. I'm a pencil and pen artist so stretching my wings is fun. I've always wanted to try working with steel and or alluminum- cutting and wrong bur coming up with materials is difficult. Anyways, just wanted to show my interest, support wnd encouragement!! Blessings!!!
