add quite a bit of graphene to the charcoal mix, crush it up or throw in a salt brick (or a few). salt will turn into an electrolyte and graphene will allow super-excited electrons to cross the "matter material" easier. @mystic222223 жыл бұрын
BS! 1) Carbon/Copper could indeed make a decent cell with a fair amount of amperage and a *little* voltage, but this isn't even carbon/copper. It's copper/carbon/copper=0 volts. 2) You have no separator, so it's an internal dead short. 3) Rain water is *pure* water, which is an insulator, not an electrolyte. No current will flow until there's at least a little bit of ions in the water. If there *were* any ions, it would boil over from the dead short and catch fire from all the hydrogen/oxygen electrlyzed out of the water. At best, you might have a reasonably large electrolytic capacitor here, until the dissolving copper ions started conducting parasitic current.
@yougeo2 жыл бұрын

And an electrolyte. Dry cells use a slurry or paste with the chemical electrolyte that slowly breaks down the anode. Some batteries have paper over the metal anode to slow decomposition during battery storage. Therefore, by watching this video, it becomes clear that this is a fake battery. But 2 jobs could be done. I have powered ac devices with dc power, and 3.7 watt leds with one side of a 12 volt battery with no problem. The standardized methods are far form the only way things can be accomplished. Many times, the standard or required methods will simply not work or result in unforeseen problems. The main problem with society and our educational system is the fact it teaches people to memorize facts and rarely provides an understanding of the fundamental principles and mechanisms of operation. So the charcoal is where the electrons are stored, and the mass of the metal decides how much power can be transferred at once, and the magnet directs the current to one pole of the metal somehow, and the water allows the stored electrons in the charcoal to travel to the metal. It's odd how even electrons at the bottom of the barrel could reach the metal, I guess as long as there is a charge they can be attracted?

Likewise, carbon, which is flooded with rainwater, has no function. There would have to be a lot of that carbon, which the author didn't have. @@johnslugger Actually if it was a ferrite or other ceramic magnet, it wouldn't short it! Ahhhhhhh and it's probably just a crude (super?) capacitor that makes up for its crudeness in sheer scale. Because he didn't show how long it lasted-ie, the amount of charge, and thus total energy it stores.

Seems like if one lead and it's carbon was placed in a membrane bag and then the other one done around the bag you would have two separated poles with large surface area and get many amps at low volts or perhaps 1 volt? An efficient voltage regulator might be able to up the voltage or just make many and series them together. People do make small ultracapacitors this way. Why was his electrolyte?

This is a freakishly massive graphite/carbon supercapacitor isn't it! I don't think the coupler needs to be a magnet, but the fact that it's rough and dirty and slightly conductive (is it ferrite?) makes it a perfect separator to have a partial contact but not with enough conductivity to provide substantial self-discharge. You could probably make it even better with different separators and probably more surface area on both that and the copper tubing, but idk; this is amazing though if it's real! :D
