Great tutorial. Could you consider doing a follow-up on how to apply this to a specific object instead of to the whole scene - i.e. using postprocess materials with custom depth?
@AnimatorArtistLife2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback and apologies for the late reply! Only the object that that material is applied to will have the glow, is that what you mean? 😊
@13ackStab2 жыл бұрын
@@AnimatorArtistLife Right - this method looks fantastic, but the unbound postprocess volume seems to apply the bloom to all emissives in the scene, rather than just the one object with the glowing material we created. My goal is to make this specific object have bloom, but everything else remains untouched - which I believe is possible with postprocess materials and custom depth, but I haven't been able to figure it out quite yet.

You may have lens flare activated in your post processing module

This was really handy! I finally figured I could have a low emissive strength on material instance but boost it other places to let the color remain close to the original instead of turning white-ish. However every time I looked away from the cube the light disappeared. Do you know how to fix that? I'm assuming its something to do with the engine not animating the cube when its not in the camera view?
@AnimatorArtistLife2 жыл бұрын
Hey apologies for the late reply. Yes geometry does not follow cameras, you'd need to animate it, or parent it to the camera 🙂

Hi Naomi, that is just the name of my geometry. It's that abstract shape that surrounds the sphere, I built this in Maya. You can use these techniques on any geometry of your own. But I am going to be giving away this 3d model and full Unreal engine scene to anyone who supports the channel if you are interested in joining. I'll be giving away other models, after effects files, characters, and a private group where you can get access to me for personal feedback on your work, it's very new, but you can join here: 👉 patreon.com/animatorartistlife thanks
