This was a great tutorial! Well explained. I wasn’t even aware of the possibility and how simplistic it actually is. Rotation didn’t work out for me, but I’ll try again. It give me the idea to use this technique for letters without the motion part. I’ll be checking the glow texture. Very much appreciated 🙏🏻

Awesome! Thanks! I'm working on a video for an ad campaign using MetaHuman for a 3D portion and a 2D montage in another segment. I've been using Unreal 4 for a while, and now I'm wondering if Unreal 4.27 or DaVinci Resolve would be better for animating texts. I'll end up editing the entire movie using the free DaVinci Resolve, but I was curious if anyone has experience with these two.

Hi.. sorry for the late reply your comment is only showing on mobile. Unreal would be for 3d text but if your text is 2d motion design style I'd stick with dvinci or after effects

Hey, thanks for the feedback, it really helps me make more! 😊 When exporting make sure you use the new high res movie renderer (google it, there are a few tutorials on it) . its spawning the character in the level even when there is no player start in the level and i dont understand why. The camera is following the character and it is messing up my whole cinematic. EDIT: i figured it out, i had to change the game mode in the world settings. if anyone is having this issue.

Please answer why changes occur at the sequence level when closing and opening a project --- the main function in the sequencer when opening a project ---text3DCharacterTransform--- is highlighted in red --- it needs to be loaded every time with the project in a new way---UE5???

Great tutorial! My text looks better in my modeling window than when rendered. It looks soft when rendered. Looks like a lot of other people are having this problem in Unreal. Shouldn't be so hard to get a good looking render.

Hey, thanks for the kind words on teh tutorial, I'm happy it helped. re the render, my renders come out fine, it could be many things. have you set up a post processing volume? then under miscellaneous change screen percentage to 200% this is if you are using the sequencer to render. nowadays its much better to use the High quality movie render queue. make sure you watch a tutorial on the settings, and change anti aliasing to override = none , and temporal sample to 32 minimum, I use 64 or 128

@@AnimatorArtistLife Thanks for your response. My problem was my text being outside of the Depth of Field, and was out of focus. I fixed it by going to the modeling window, Show > Visualize > Depth of Field layers. That gives me colored background (blue), midground (black), which is always in focus, and foreground (green). By adjusting my camera, or transforming my object to be in the black, the object will be in focus. The onscreen info. will also give you the Focal Distance.

Thank you! Im really happy it was helpful. regarding rendering, make sure you use the newer movie render queue, you get much better quality and anti aliasing. Its pretty easy to use, just a few essential settings. There are a few good tutorials already on youtube do a search for unreal movie render queue. Hi, terrific tutorial! Is there a way to change the "anchor/origin" point where the scale is happening from? Right now it's the left bottom corner and it's not as pleasing visually as it could be if the scaling was happening from the centre of each letter.

Ive not tried it, but I think you can. even in other programs where Ive need to control teh kerning of just one letter, I add an extra space, highlight that space then adjust the kerning, let me know if you manage it

Hi, check you have set the radius of your reflection capture big enough, also you may have turned off the display of reflections in your view menu perhaps?
