You can customize your seat. Use rebonded foam. Cost of materials is dependent on where you buy.

I’d recommend you figure out dimensions so you know for yourself. 2” high density foam is pretty good. Varying qualities.

Yes, just stretch the vinyl over the foam and staple it to the bottom of the seat. No piping, though, just vinyl.

+Yolo GameplAy vinyl is sold by the yard at a certain width. Seat is like 2ft X 2ft and top is 2 ft x3 ft so maybe 1 - 1.5 yards would be plenty? Depends on demensions

This go kart was restored from an old one I found online. I did not make it. It is much easier (and cheaper) to find an old go kart on Craigslist than it is to make one from scratch. Try visiting diygokarts.com for advice on how to make one.

+KartFab I always wear a helmet on those kinds of go karts. I used to own a go kart but mine had a roll cage. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of it. That bar behind the seat will prevent it from rolling over too far. The go karts you find at amusement centers don't have a roll cage but they do have seat belts. A go kart track that's not to far from my house has karts that reach a speed of 50mph. And yes, those karts have seat belts.

This video was how to build a go kart SEAT not an actual go kart. What 'more information' do you think it needs? In my years of helping people out on forums and KZbin, I have noticed that people that actually want to do something will find a way to do it, and those are the people that benefit from these types of videos. This goes over the basics that someone would need to build their own go kart seat from scratch. There are also people that want to be given things on a silver platter, and will never, ever be able to understand something that is so incredibly clear. People that want to be spoon fed the nitty gritty details will always end up feeling disaffected by good information because it requires thinking and effort, much of which they had tried to avoid by looking for a walk-though. Just look at the alternatives, just search for how to build a go kart seat and see which videos are better than this one... you will be severely dissapointed.
