This is the FIRST time I am subscribing to a web-site. I must admit that these videos are wonderful.... entertaining as well as instructive in a step-by-step way. At age 66, you are encouraging me (a former accountant) to do something I have wanted to do for the past 30 years.... express my creative side. Thank you.

I'd love to see a Monster Lab episode on making foam masters out of mother molds and how to make production molds off of those masters. That's something i've wanted to know how to do for awhile, and it's a topic that you don't see covered very often when it comes to tutorials like this.

Is the latex just regular Halloween store liquid latex or is it a specific latex for making props? All I know is I would definitely like to make some kind of critter with my monster-making skills. Mine are only ceramic monsters for now, I've been wanting to learn how to make this stuff!
@nicholash16912 жыл бұрын

Thank you for this! I want to start making my own custom props and this looks like a great start! Would you recommend doing this if I were going to make a foam filled prop head (Not a Mask)? Also, how long after I sculpt the piece should I coat it with the spray paint? Another question I have is, would you recommend having one of those face sculptures to make a sculpt around or just start with a stick in wood and build out. I'm wanting to make a foam filled demented monster head prop. Thanks!

Could you use an oil based clay, or wax? Reasons why you dont, or reasons why you might prefer this over those?
@eldie3d3 жыл бұрын
I don't understand how the little critter came out hollow. Is it because you kept rolling the mold around so the silicone would just coat the sides? I thought when you poured it in you were going to fill it up and he would be solid. Is it hollow just because you only poured a little and rolled the mold coating only the inside walls??? Thanks!

hi excellent video ..but you said you filled the mould with latex yet you puppet is hollow ?
@DistortionsUnlimited7 жыл бұрын
We fill the mold with latex, wait for a certain amount of time to achieve the thickness you want, and then dump and save the rest of the liquid latex into a bucket. You then let the latex that remains dry before pulling. We will do a specific video on that soon.
