If you're looking for a simple and affordable way to make a flower or fresh herb garden, then consider this approach: mount a gutter to the side of your deck or porch and fill it with soil and plant basil, mint, flowers, or other fun and fresh plants that you want to enjoy from your living space. My wife commissioned this idea from me a month ago and I just put it up this past weekend. I think it is a great little way to have a hanging garden and super easy to take care of.
