This is going to be a long story. About 4 years ago I had fallen for my crush, he’d fallen for me. We were both too shy to ever mention it, but we both well knew we liked each other. A year later we start talking more, we never hung out outside of school but we were basically a thing without saying it. I got on the school bus and cried swearing to myself I would never utter a word to him again. He texted me the next day that he “swears I only liked her for a day, that’s it”. I forgave him and we resumed our so called “friendship”. A year goes by and we had no issues. The girl moved away. I start a new friendship with this gorgeous girl that everyone likes. The same thing happened. When we would text, he said to me “if you ever decide you don’t like me anymore, just know that I’ll wait for you. I wouldn’t dare be with anyone else. He is such a sweetheart and our whole situation is complicated because we were never really dating, but I don’t know if I can handle his immaturity and inconsistency. TLDR; the boy I’m in a complicated situation with consistently develops feelings with my close friends before claiming he doesn’t have them anymore and I don’t know what to do.

I am going to be honest and tell you to not date him and move on and like another guy. I have a friend who is exactly like this but I didnt get feelings for him thankfully. He was so in love with me and he used to talk all sweet nothings then one day he says he likes a another girl and told it to her and they are in a relationship and I was beyond shocked and I was like "I thought you were flirting with me? Guess I was wrong" And he flat out said he never did (Not true cuz he literally said how he goes crazy for me and how in love he is with me) First I thought maybe I over analyzed (I never did) and then after a week or two he said she dumped his ass so I was as usual as a good friend trying to make him feel better by giving advice then after 2 weeks guess what? He says he is in love with me and wants to date me and I was like nah in my head cuz imagine he wouldnt have asked or said if he were still with her and I am not a plan B and then same thing happened a few months later found another girl after again telling me stuff like he loves me over and over again and how I am his and then same thing happens his ass gets dumped after 2 weeks and he comes back crying and I give him advice again and then 3 weeks later he says AGAIN that he loves me and at this point I was so done and I was so blunt and told that he needs to get mature and drop his immaturity and stop his BS but guess what? I only heard from him a few times afterwards he now has disappeared completely and IDK where he is. Your situation isnt the same but it is similar. You need to tell him to mature and drop his immaturity and see where this goes or you need to move on. I am saying move on cuz guys like this who are wishy washy never change but it is up to you
