Props on the patience and consistence. To me clean resulting Polyhair is difficult to work with...: I always end up getting a blobby base with a few hair strands. Or I giveup and click fiber mesh. :D

Spent like half an hour looking for something like this. All other tutorials just use pre-made hair brushes but I want to know how to make me own hair brushes so that I can customise them more to my specific needs at the time. I think I understand the basic idea now, got any more tips or neat tricks for making hair brushes as this is 6 years old?

I''m running into the issue that when I try to self the polygroups it selects the whole rectangle =( any advice?

I am having this same issue it will not let me just select part of it, just selects the entire group and so I cannot make multiple polygroups :/

@@TimeForged had the same issue! weird but i found if you rotate the view so you're not looking at the cube straight on but you can see the top, side and front faces, and you make a rectangle selection that contains all the faces you want, it will sometimes select them. I don't know why this doesn't work straight on tho!

I never really use hair cards since that's more geared towards game engines. Maybe I'll look into it sometime!

Thank you! Yeah, that's my end goal with my models but there's practically zero good tutorials focusing on the concept. Most don't bother to explain things that you'd need to know if you weren't an advanced user, or they use Maya for UV unwrapping and organization, which I don't use.

What I meant by "too short" is that I have been trying to make hair that way on zbrush for years, hoping to have a detailed video of how you do it. This is clearly the style that seeks to have, but I did not find a tutorial that explains step by step how to proceed.
