How beautiful would these be with a Christmas motif? Holly and berries, a wreath, ornaments, etc. would all be cute! I'm going to order these to make as a thank-you gift for our neighbors! Love these so much!

Hi. These are lovely and I look forward to making them as well as the napkins. I have the kits for both, has the fabric in the kits been pre-washed?

We're happy you enjoy these fun kits! We do not prewash our fabrics prior to sending them out, so the fabrics in the kits have not been prewashed. 💖 -Michelle

So pretty. Question ~ when making the outside X , do you knot the thread ? Bury it ? What does the back edge look like? Thank you.
@ShabbyFabrics
@ShabbyFabrics 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Caren - We did knot our thread on the back of the placemat, then travel it through the edge to the next "X". Hope this makes sense! -Michelle

When we're cutting down the placemats after embroidery from 13x19 to 12x18, do we cut from one side (1 inch from the left or right, and 1 inch from the top or bottom) or half an inch from all sides?
@ShabbyFabrics
@ShabbyFabrics Жыл бұрын
Hi SmittenKitten - You can position as desired for that step. Ideally, you'd be trimming .5" from all sides, but sometimes it doesn't always work out that way. However you choose to trim is fine. Hope this helps! -Michelle

@@ShabbyFabrics It does! Thanks so much, MIchelle! Fortunately, I didn't get any warping, so it was easiest (for me) to just trim a half inch from all four sides. I'm nearly finished!

What is the recommended care for the finished placemats? Hand wash and air dry?
@ShabbyFabrics

Yes, that would definitely be our recommendation for this project. -Michelle

It us very nice projets. If I may say , in embroidery this is no knots to start or finish. Look at Sarah Homfray
