I love all your videos and have learned alot from them. Thank you for that. I enjoy pressing many different varieties of flowers and I have used the various methods you mention. What kind of blotting paper do you use, and where do you get your cardboard squares for the press? Deb

Hi, Deb! I use mostly computer paper in my press, but I'm experimenting with using a combination of computer paper and cotton fabric! As for the cardboard, I cut them out of free card board boxes!

They're so pretty! I'm really inspired to make one of these myself. I can't tell you how many flowers I've pressed since your last video 😅 I've really got to do something with them! I have a question.. how long do you think the flowers can last in the frame? And can you make them last longer by painting them with something? I saw another youtuber paint her flowers with a varnish, I wonder especially with the glass frame can you do this, let them dry, then glue them to the glass to make them last longer?

I know, my pressed flower collection has been growing out of hand too! I'll be creating some more pressed flower DIYs so look out for those! Flowers will last a long time in the frame if they're pressed completely and kept away from direct sunlight and humidity. The colors will change because that's just the natural process. I have seen other people color enhance pressed flowers to "hack" the natural color change and I've heard of "sealing" each pressed flower with glue, but I personally don't have experience with those processes. Take the time to experiment with it and see what works for you! Happy creating and happy pressing!

@@sundaysunshine thank you for your detailed reply! Yes I'm thinking of getting some varnish and test it out on ones that didn't press that nicely. I never dreamed pressing flowers could be so fun! I've also come to realise there's a variety of little wild flowers hiding in inconspicuous corners of our backyard. Definitely learnt to pay more attention to the things around me!

Will the colours last or will it fade with time?
@idiotsandwich225 Жыл бұрын
From my experience, keeping them out of the sun is helpful and so far, none of mine have faded. Hope this helps
@sundaysunshine Жыл бұрын
It helps to keep the flowers out of direct sunlight and out of humid space for them to retain their color longer. I've noticed that some flowers retain their color well while others begin to fade and change over time!

Very misleading video, not educational.

I'm sorry, it was not my intention to be misleading with the video. I hope you find what you are looking for elsewhere.

@@sundaysunshine no I didn't mean it that way The video is great but there should something to indicate that it's not "scientific" for lack of a better word with my poor English
