In this video I walk you through how to take a panel and make it into a lap size quilt. Don't let me confuse you. It is really easy. So easy that someone that just started sewing can make this easily!!!
Supplies Needed:
Panel- 1 Yard
Border 1- 1/2 yard
Border 2- 3/4 yard
Border 3- 1 3/4 yard
Yields a 63.5" X 70.25" Quilt
Items Used That I could find:
Panel- shorturl.at/pHTYZ
Border 1- Homegrown Holidays by Deb Strain Trucks and Trees Green- shorturl.at/pOVY5
Border 2- www.joann.com/...
Border 3- Couldn't find exact... Here are a few options I did find.
1- www.joann.com/...
2- www.joann.com/...
3- www.joann.com/...
4- www.joann.com/...
5- www.joann.com/...
6- www.joann.com/...
These links above are what I found online. I do not make any commission off them. I just wanted to make sure you had options to make a quilt similar to the one I make in this video.
ENJOY!!!

Excellent video! I’m so glad to see someone show how to square a really wonky panel. You also showed two ways to try to square it up. A lot of people will show squaring a panel with a perfect panel that makes it look easy. Thanks for demonstrating with a very wonky panel and stating that when you iron it, you still needed to stretch it some more.

You are an amazing person and an amazing teacher. Having been in the fabric retail management industry for 35 years, including years of fabric technology, I can tell you about why your panel is off grain. When they are rolled and bolted it has been pulled offgrain. Lightly spraying it with water and stretching it, often does the job. Almost all the cottons you work with are are stretched out of shape. However, since you rotary cut your solids and allover prints, you don't notice it. I can show you how to see that just about any fabric you work with is off grain. There are fabrics with no grains, such as many interfacings, felts, and others that you can lay any which way and no grain worried. Any designs on them are printed on top. Technology is changing and so will your fabrics.

Ya I watched videos on fabric being made and how it goes through and is rolled on rolls then sent to the business that put rolls on big machines and it folds and bolts up the fabric. It's pretty neat how it's done 😉
