How much room is there between the subfloor and the upstairs floor? I don’t want to drill into my living room floor!

Thanks for sharing this. Out of the few diy joist pull up bars on the internet, this ones looks to fit my needs. I noticed the 2x10 pieces you started with doesn't look like the ones you end up with? Is it because you needed to adjust the necessary space/distance for the galvanized pipe? either way. thanks. i'll be sure to triple check and mesaure.

Good question. I had to go back and check out the video and you're right. I believe that I used the other pieces to hang gymnast rings in the basement. So yes, you could use less screws in order to make sure that there is proper spacing to screw in the flange piece to connect the pipe. Thanks for calling this to my attention and good luck with the build. Mine is still going strong. Thanks also for checkin out the video!

Would this would in a doorframe? Or: would it be okay to do this without the vertical bars and instead just do a crossbar?
@joelydic6 жыл бұрын
That would probably work. You could just put the flat flange pieces directly onto the horizontal bar. You would just need to make sure that you are screwing into solid wood framing. Hope this helps and good luck!

Were you able to buy 3 foot and 1 foot pieces of pipe threaded or did you install it a different way?
@joelydic4 жыл бұрын
You can pick up threaded galvanized pipe like this at the big box stores so you should be good to go. Thanks for checking out the video and good luck.

Did you assemble the 3 pieces together first?
@joelydic3 жыл бұрын
Yep. Assemble the pipes together first and after they're snug go ahead and hang it. Thanks for checking out the video and good luck!

What screws did you use?
@joelydic4 жыл бұрын
I believe that they were either 2.5" or 3" wood screws. You want to make sure that they're long enough to sink in through the blocks and a bit into the subfloor. Hope that helps and thanks for checking out the video.

Joe Lydic Thanks for the response! I realized after rewatching the video you said 2.5” at the beginning 🤦♂️ I’ve had mine up for a couple days now, seems to be very sturdy and can hold the body weight! Thanks for the vid
