I owned a 2008 modded ruckus and sold it 7 years ago. Missed it horrifically. I scored a 2009 Ruckus w/ 780 miles on it just last week. Within a week I found your site, videos, and documentation. You now have an order for this EVI, variator kit, 4g/4.5g weights, and some other parts to move my +200lb butt. Now to find a fuel filter and replacement pump so I can do the swap while I have everything torn apart. I look forward to getting this and being able to get past 36ish mph out of the stock motor.

Just put this on my new 2022 Honda Ruckus and it woke it up big time. Just do what Matt says, get a tachometer then do this CDI box. My stock Ruckus came with 7 gram rollers. I went with 5.5 g sliders. Woke up my new Ruckus. Looking forward to more parts from Rolling Wrench.

The sliders is literally all you need. I have stock everything but switched to 5g sliders and my ruckus is totally different. Way more acceleration.. I already hit 44-45mph on slight inclines and 40-42mph on complete flats.

I have both full stage 1 kit & stage 2 kits from Rolling Wrench. The clutch is 1 item most overlook & if you are over 200lbs, it is a necessity with the 3 larger pads. My curb weight over stock is around 240lbs so I also changed the rear shock & since I never kick start (my 1st Harley a 63 Panhead broke me of that) I also have an ankle biter & a performance carb but the same stock size ports. At 240lbs over curb weight (bags & locks) I cruise easy at 44/46mph. Now if I was 100lbs lighter would be likely over 50mph. Plus I did not lower the seat (I'm age 70 with a bad knee) use footpegs which is less aerodynamic & have a blackout windscreen to keep air & bugs off my chest (live in the deep South). Needless to say I am very happy with both kits performance. I run the Ruck everywhere around town & the ability to cruise at 45mph means I'm good everywhere except the Interstate (Harley is now only used for that). 1 Tip, the included NCY variator performs better with this clutch than a Polini, I have both & was surprised.

That is a decent Cdi/coil combo a bit pricey but nice ! I think i might have installed it as close to the plug as possible thus making the current drop super small and just extended the wires solder and heat shrink and your all good .. Good job

just installed and ran beautiful but now my spark plugs keep going bad and making me bog out, when i check everything it’s getting gas, carb was cleaned fuel lines cleaned, it’s getting fuel, plenty of air flow but i can’t seem to find out why my spark plug keeps going bad and having black residue on it

I just bought this kit and spark plug mentioned in video. Very excited to try it. Does the spark plug gap need to be adjusted at all? I have a 2018 model ruckus. Not mechanical minded

Where you connect the red + Hotwire matters, because it originally connected to battery +. It must be connected to the ECU. like you show in the video, connects to one of the Run/stop switch wires. You dont say specifically witch wire. I tried connecting to the master relay and the engine wouldn't shut off. On the metropolitan Its the black wire w/ red stripe that goes to run/stop switch. Also what is the Blue wire for? Is this the signal or voltage that triggers the ignition coil? What does the motor brain do? does it advance the timing? What are the timing specs?

Yes. Keep in mind the EVI by passes the vehicles ignition system. A reset will only effect the tps sensor on the oem carburetor

Isn't there a risk for valve float without the rev limiter?

Yes definitely. As far as I have tested we can get the stock ruckus to around 10,500k rpm then the valves start to float. I tried to blow up the engine. The thing is a beast, I was not successful. So I’m not worried about it. Also, I haven’t heard of a single engine failure case in the 4 years or selling these. :-)

sometimes racing ignition coil should help. i been replaced stock with racing ignition like nology wire ,it turned out so better and clean combustion.

I just got me a ncy cdi unlimited box. What’s the difference between the both? Is one better than the other?

This one is better. Although NCY isn’t bad. I think the worst thing about it is I have seen them blow out the $500 ECU multiple times. Our EVI bypasses the Honda ignition system completely. NCY goes through it. EVI has advanced timing for better acceleration, NCY doesn’t. EVI has a micro processor cdi with a integrated performance ignition coil. NCY does not. EVI is 💯 plug and play. NCY is not. You will loose your kill switch function on the NCY. Not with the EVI. They both delete the rev limiter.

Salut après des heures et des heures de recherches je suis tomber sur ta chaîne, je possède un scooter 4 temp rare à injection mais il à était mal fait je veux donc le passer en carburateur mais je rencontre plusieurs souci le scooter en question : Pitio imf 4 temp injection 2019 ( 139 QMA ) Le soucis : Faisceau inexistant Pompe a injection immerger Plus de boîtier ( ecu ) rojo Sonde lambda hs Ce qu'il reste sur le scooter : Solénoïde de demarage Régulateur de tension Central clignotante Le moteur complet Donc mon but étant de le passer en carburateur, je suis aller sur ton shop pas mal de chose m’interaisse comme le cylindre 80cc big bore Le cdi EFI Pourrais tu me donner de petit conseil car tu as beaucoup plus de connaissances que moi la dedans merci à toi 🥰👍✌
