Wow amazing, is there any specific chord types and effects you find work best? Also when it comes to your levels and production is it all sort of standard levels or whatever fits the song most? also are there any tips or tricks or anything you would suggest when making a song of this style? Brilliant video!! thanks,

Thank you!! So there is a lot to tackle here and my plan is to make a couple more videos this week to break down my process into more detailed steps (writing, recording, and mixing). But I'll try my best to answer your questions here. For chords, I would recommend checking out chord extensions. They are really important for writing really beautiful and interesting chord progressions that can stand on their own. As for effects, learning the basics of EQ, compression, delay, and reverb will get you really far. There are obviously a ton of other effects like chorus, distortion, saturation, but those 4 are a good place to start to get a solid sound out of any instrument. Unfortunately there's no consistent standard for levels to make a song sound great every time. Every song is different. But I'd say learning how to gain stage should be at the top of your list when learning how to mix. In The Mix has a great video on this (kzbin.info/www/bejne/pprRf394o6eFm5o). I'll have a video out later this week on how I write these types of songs, and that'll have a good portion of my tips and tricks. If you have any other questions, please let me know
