Fabulous! I love how the Scots keep so much of their heritage alive. Even designing and producing a new tartan today is a lot of work; I can't imagine what it was like before computers and mechanical automation.

Excellent presentation of how your kilt and tartan were made. I am impressed how the whole process went. Knowing that your idea for a tartan was based on family and incidents, I think it would bring tears to my eyes. Thanks for sharing.

That is just beautiful! Much went into making the kilt: the conception, the planning, the design, the creation, the quality control, and of course, the wearing of it. What a magnificent work of Scottish heritage! #LoveScotland

I was so chuffed to see the graham clan in the parade. Love ya Scottie’s , my mum would be so proud if she was here but sadly recently passed. She would be proud for me to wear the clan kilt tartan. Much love for Scotland . 👍

You and me both has just learned a whole lot of history. My last name is Ewell, by my understanding that we are the offshoot of the buchanans, and I'm very proud of my Scottish Heritage. I would like to do the same thing this man did incorporate the Ewell tartan, and the Buchanan talk. And merge them together and see what it comes up with. For me it would be very in white and see what would come out to be. From my understanding my last name is spelled many different ways, Ewell, Yule, and Yool.

I have a blue-and-black kilt hanging in my closet, like the one in Part 1, but blue instead of orange. I bought it at the thrift store for a Halloween costume, and it didn't quite fit me, so my mom fit some black elastic around the waist. I usually wear it with black tights and black ballet flats. Last year during English class I wore it with white sports socks and sneakers, with my brother's black polyester shorts underneath, with their elastic lined up with the elastic of the skirt.

Don't get rid of it! It's too much of a treasure and your future children may love it. It's a great way to learn about Scottish tradition. I had one too when I was a girl. My mother made it. The fabric would have been exceptional.

My grandma was born in Aberdeen Scotland she moved from there to Canada when she was 16yrs old in 1956. I really want to visit Scotland and see my families heritage on both sides of my family!! And I want to get a kilt made for me whilst I'm there and I'd choose the Robertson red tartan since that's my grandmas clan well my families clan I should say :) thank you I really enjoyed watching this!!

Yes. Every step costs, though, including submitting and registering the tartan. Expect to spend a few thousand dollars, depending on who you work with and the quality of the materials.

nice touristy video but it still doesnt show how the kilt is made up like how to do the pleating. It only shows how to make your own tartan

I feel that this artsy fartsy woman influenced his decision he wanted classic he wanted tradition he had a clear idea of what he wanted she helped him pick the colors and she kept trying to get him to pick more what she wanted pinks and purples and baby blue more showy look at me colors. And then he caved and said sure let's add some purple. Then when the next guy was showing the different patterna and color matches they had come up with and as soon as the purple on appeared on screen she crapped her pants. and immedatly started gushing (this is what I like/want to make) and the guy sat back and basically let her take over and he allowed her to make all the final decisions on his kilt. half the time you can almost read his mind you can see him huffing like he's flustered with her making changes. then in the next few scenes he's not even there it's her talking and discussing the tartan with people. I'm pretty sure he doesn't like it and she started with tiny Decisions then eventually took over the whole project and basically kicked him out. Why was she even there especially after the first scenes. when he could have gone with the other guy and his computer and they could have come up with something.

So not really about how to make a kilt as much as. How to make a tartan.
