Tommy Hosteng I'm a barista but I can't afford my own machine. I just microwave milk and pour it into my French press and push the handle back and fourth to make it foamy. It works great.

every drink is basically an espresso with milk
@xOUTLIVEx10 жыл бұрын
Essentially yes, every espresso drink is generally just espresso with milk. That will always be your base. In shops like starbucks or peet's, you'll generally find that any flavored latte is just your regular latte... with flavor, either from syrup or sauce. When it comes to specialty coffee and "3rd wave" venues however, you'll find generally that rather than having a choice in flavors (which generally are not offered anyways), you have have choice in drink size ranging from what an american small is to really small. The pro to that is, you can enjoy the flavor of the coffee more... to those who actually care!
@herbbradley89587 жыл бұрын
I agree. Starbucks Tall Americano taste watered down. I now have them do 3 shots in a tall and still have them not fill it up all the way. 1/3 espress to 2/3 water is the rule for americano I add steamed breve just to bring up the caramel flavor to the surface. No sugar needed

@LetWigfridEatFruit I don't think you can make latte with that because you need espresso too.. You can only do mocha if you have a milk frother without a "high pressure espresso" made from the machine.

He presses to hard clogging the holes thus making the espresso drip instead of coming down in a stead stream. You want to achieve a stream that's equivalent to a piece of spaghetti. Froth is created by the hissing sound. Control how much the steam wand hisses and you should be able to control the amount of froth you get
