Hi Jo, I've had a go at making this belt. I found it quite difficult when making the holes for stitching with my Tandy pricking iron . What ones do you use in this tutorial? I know quality tools aren't cheap just difficult when starting out as you need different sizes etc. Any particular you would recommend? Thanks for tutorial. 😊

Hi Tanya, i have a mix of Joseph Dixson and Abbey England stitch markers. Unfortunately Joseph Dixson are no longer in business but the Abbey one is fine (I have a pair of no7 from them and use the normal one everyday pretty much) blanchard tools are ment to have some nice ones also. Also a sharp awl will help no end 👍

Tanya Braeman You can improve Tandy, or any other cheapish stitching chisel by polishing the prongs with a needle file and/or a homemade polishing 'wand' made by glueing some fine wet & dry paper to a thin sliver of wood like a lollipop stick. Start with 400 or 500 grit and work down in a few steps to 1200 or 1500. you can also lubricate the prongs by rubbing them on beeswax

Hello, I use a mix of corespun polyester thread (tkt 8 for stitching in 7 and tkt 12 for stitching in 10 stitches per inch) and Lin Cable linen threads (332 for stitching in 7 and 432 for stitching in 10) hope this helps. Jo
