Lined with chrome tan leather? After a quick Google Search .... "Chrome tan leather can potentially corrode steel, but not through a traditional rusting process....instead, the concern is with the chromium salts used in the tanning process. These salts can migrate to the surface of the leather, creating a corrosive environment that can damage or corrode nearby steel objects. This is evident from the user experiences shared in the search results, where chrome tan leather was found to corrode steel sheaths and knives."

S125V steel is capable of achieving quite high hardness, about 66 HRc when properly heat treated. This steel has a hardness “when quenched” at 400°F. The following hardness values are obtained from heat treating small coupons by austenitizing for 20 minutes, plate quenching, cooling with liquid nitrogen and tempering twice for two hours each. S125V is even more difficult to machine. This type of steel was difficult to produce in the first place, so basically, from start to finish, no one liked working with it. It is used almost exclusively in custom knives and not many are made. This steel has become a bit more popular among Russian custom knives, as they are clearly more interested in highly wear-resistant stainless steel and mirror-polished finishing treatments. . The leather inside has been tempered with canola oil. leading to almost zero knife rust. -For someone who loves knives, they take very good care of their knives. Thank you for discussing this issue so that we, the craftsmen, can better perfect our products.
@Nguyenvietphuong10266Ай бұрын
The knife sheath is made up of 2 layers of leather. The inner leather layer has been treated with a layer of canola oil before. and the knife will be cleaned of oil regularly after each use, resulting in maximum corrosion reduction. Thank you so much.
