I purchased my SMD 5050 LED Here: s.click.aliexp...
My conductive Cooper tape is from here: s.click.aliexp...
My batteries were from here: s.click.aliexp...
My bone folder is from here: www.craftonlin...
I purchase my cardstock for my bases from Office Works: www.officework...
The step by step tutorial on how to make the light up anniversary card can be found here. It was my very first tutorial and I didn’t fully know how to use the app to get the best quality video so I apologise in advance for the poor quality. But I have learned a lot in the last few days with a lot of practice.

This was a great video to teach me how this works. Thank you for putting this together and explaining it so well. I made my first test with items purchased from Amazon and it all worked great. Now, on to a card! Thanks again!

I would like to thank you for the fantastic video you shared. :) And I was so lucky you included where you got you led lights. I had been searching and searching trying to find these leds with no luck at all. Google kept coming up with the spools of Led lights that are not separated like these are. Well I'm one happy camper I found you!! Thanks again and I do appreciate you sharing this with us! Take care.

Kulravee Buraphadeja hello and thanks for watching and commenting. I just used clear tape you don’t want anything between the connection points and the copper tape. You CAN use a tiny drop of super glue or other strong glue but straight onto paper away from connection points and copper tape to make sure good contact.

Oh Abi sorry for the delayed reply. I just make a switch with paper and then I pop foam tape around the 3 free edges so the battery doesn’t fall out. If you like at time 12:50 in my anniversary light up card you’ll see a demonstration. It was my first ever video and is terrible I’m sorry. But I learned a lot in that first one. Have a look at that one and if you’re still confused maybe search a few other tutorials and you may see someone explain it better than me. Happy crafting!

If you were posting this, how do you stop the switch from accidentally being turned on and running the battery flat?
@angelinamacintosh5796
@angelinamacintosh5796 2 жыл бұрын
I build the foam up well around the switch to make sure the pressure has to be focussed in that spot. The light should last a long time even if posted I’d expect. There are alternative switch options you can do - sliding switches which are a bit more complex but ideal for that concern. Check out eiken laboratories you tube and you may see them demonstrated easily there. Thanks for watching :)

I really like your video I did wonder are you in Australia (so am i) I also wondered the links work but I wish could get the lights somewhere quickly I cant wait to try this! I'm.excited to find way to do this without chibitronics which is super expensive! So I've been googling trying to find the lights in Australia I am not sure how long Ali takes? I've never shopped on there before but I'm guessing it might be like wish and take a month to get here that's all! I am finding led strip lights for gardens I dont think that's quite right! Thanks for your help I'm going to watch your card video next!

Thanks Erin! Yes I’m in Brisbane Australia. I found these on AliExpress but you could find on eBay or something. They are lights for electronics I believe. They take forever to arrive unfortunately but you CAN choose faster shipping at cost. I buy free shipping so have to wait. I have returned to my full time job and have 4 kids including a 1 year old and it’s tough to find time to craft and film at present. I craft at night and it films poorly unfortunately. I’m eager to post more but it may take time. I work 11 days a fortnight so 5 days 6 days 5 days 6 days. I wish I had more time. I’d love to see what you make. Share it with me on Facebook @angelinapetershandmadecards.

@@angelinamacintosh5796 thanks for your info in the end i had no luck finding the right lights or they were miles more expensive so i decided to wait for aliexpress in the end it was a TON load cheaper and at least i knew i had the right items! i had trouble finding the lights. I am sorry you dont have much time to craft i guess u just have to do it when you can! I am in adelaide! I will have to figure out how to find you/your page i am unsure if i just type what you have or if that will take me to your page when i finish a light up card i will be sure to tag you! I hope you stay safe and thank you whatever information you are able to provide. I had no idea you could do light up cards with OUT chibitronics and this is sooo much cheaper but has the same result. I would LOVE to try EZ lights but only for my pop up cards where a circuit would be far too difficult! i love making interactive cards! thanks again for your help i came back to find the info on where to buy the lights (have not bought anything yet wanted to make for christmas but got too sick to do anything and then ran out of time! ) but thinking if i get it now then i will be ready for next christmas!

one other thing how many LEDs can you put to one battery? what happens if you wanted to have a night sky with like 6 lights or something how many lights would one battery take and would you have to make 2 circuits to cope above x number of lghts?
@angelinamacintosh5796
@angelinamacintosh5796 4 жыл бұрын
Erin mckenzie-christensen I did a night sky one. I have managed 5 myself successfully. White ideally. I personally struggled when I tried adding some colours, red in particular gave me grief if trying to include it as multiple. Have a look at my tutorial “shine bright like a diamond” it has 5 lights running and worked well :)

I have a question. I made like three cards by now, but unfortunately all of them end up losing contact after I close them. I think it has to do with the card being flexible. Do you have any solution for this, except the obvious of using thicker paper? :)
@angelinamacintosh5796
@angelinamacintosh5796 3 жыл бұрын
Hmmmm you could try doubling or tripling the cardstock as you say the likely obvious solution but it COULD help to try superglue as the adhesive as it holds great. I find it difficult to do and the tape personally works best for me. I’m sorry it’s not working for you. Mine are still going strong years later! I love the cards so much I pain to give them away hahahaha 😅

Oh, that’s a shame. I don’t need to apply much pressure. May take a few goes to get the hang of it. The tips I have are: don’t lift and adjust the copper tape it causes damage to current flow, burnish it firmly, used firm card base, be careful applying the lights as you can damage the connection points. These are some of my trials I’ve had learning to get it right first time. Best of luck. Share your cards with me on facebook @AngelinaPetersHandmadeCards
