Happy to hear they are working well. I started making these pots when I was about 18 and have changed and refined them over the years to get them as efficient as possible. They have proved to be very successful for me and its great to be able to pass on this to others

@@Trojwaterman they’re fab. I use them alongside some older commercial creels that were donated to me. Each time the creels are poor i know I’ll come good with one of the handmade pots. Why? I don’t know….. there’s just something about them!

@@philtregunna9686 I have had creels in the past they do catch but I personally have not had much luck with them. It may be to do with tides amount of weed and how they land underwater plus it can sometimes be small design flaws that can make all the difference from one pot to another.

Great pots to fish,instead of roping I just cut 1 inch black water pipe in half length ways and screw in on, I find it works better than rope and is quicker to install

I will never use a pot ...we don't have lobster and crab in the Great Lakes but I enjoyed you build.

Love it!! I'm going to make a few of them, of course then I'll need a boat, and some fishing rods, and some fishing nets, and a cabin and moorings etc etc. OK, two pots first and we'll take it from there. Great vid, very informative.

I’ve made loads of theses pots and we get big tides and force 9 easterly gales. I can say they’re strong and as effective as any commercial pot 100%

Troy Try putting your netting around the pot, rather than side to side. you will find you will only need to fill the bottom in then . 29 inch pot you will need about 40 meshes X 9 . Sounds strange but it works better. 29 inch is what I make not sure what yours are, and thats not including the door if your putting one.cheers.
