Thank you for this, I got a lucet and only knew how to make a cord, I love the added bits you can do, and now I have to try to find some gimp here in australia.

I think "gimp" is anything you stick in between the working yarn/string.

Great video I have learned the basics a few years ago but had no idea what else you could do with a lucet. Thank You.

Thanks! I’ve been googling to see what I can do beyond the basic cord and this is super helpful

Great video, Stitchdiva. I've used lucets before but never with a gimp. Looks fun. One question: as I've never seen a thick lucet cord in historical books, why are they so big? Might it have started as a sailor's tool using thicker rope? I would think it would be so much simpler on the fingers to have the horns/tines shorter.

So you use the created cording in jewelry?

The cords can be used for all sorts of stuff - shoelaces, corset ties, purse straps, button loops (AKA: frogs), tying people up (don't try this at home kids!), anything you can think of for using a cord for. I even saw a video of someone sewing it into a basket (AKA: coiling). It's uses are only limited by your own imagination. 🤔😄😎

I think a white background should be used when videoing will pop out more
