Nice job. I am not sure I'd be wearing gloves at a lathe, if I wanted to keep ownership of my hands.

Like the jack but it seems to me if your going to support material extending from your vise just make a part the same heitgh as the vise. Then there is no need to adjust. That s the way I would make that piece. But understand the jack part.

Should add some knurling to both parts to facilitate hand tightening.

Good job.... most jacks are curved on top to counter any play/wobble in the threads. With a flat top it may rest on one side only, rather than in the middle

Good job Mate.

La vite che passo è? Sembra molto grosso e vedo il rischio che con le vibrazioni vite possa avvitarsi e non reggere più il peso. Avrei usato un passo più fine...

Looks nice good job, I was surprised you don't use thread cutting fluid/oil and lubricant for drilling, your tooling will last so much longer.

Thanks. Yes, you are absolutely right. For filming I usually don't use coolant because it makes such a mess.

Fajny pomysł z tą podporą. A jak się spisuje polski uchwyt tokarki czteroszczekowy? Pozwolę sobie wykorzystać Twój pomysł na podpory!

Why did it wobble when you raised or lower'd it.

Clearance between the threads, it's there so you can rotate the bolt.

What is that collet type fixture you have?
@diydilettante17245 жыл бұрын
You mean the collet block that i used on the mill? It is a 5C collet block, you can get them in square and hex.
