Hello! I purchased the pattern a few years ago, but am just getting around to assembling my bear now. I just realized though that the interfacing I purchased (way back when) is not an ‘iron on’ one. 😖). Do you have any tips on working with an interfacing that is NOT iron on?

Hi, you have 3 options that I can think of. For any of these draw your pattern pieces out onto the interfacing first ... 1) Pin the interfacing onto your fabric, sew around each piece just inside your drawn outline. Then cut out and use as per the video. 2) Buy some 404 quilting spray adhesive to stick your interfacing onto your fabric, then sew around each piece just inside your drawn outline. Then cut out and use as per the video. Or 3) buy an iron on interfacing, it will be a lot easier. Then use the sew in for a more suitable project in the future. Hi Rachel, I recently bought Betsy bear pattern and couldn't wait to get started. A very different pattern style to what I'm used to doing and it's fabulous. I just can't seem to get the hang of sewing over pins and everytime I sew a seam I automatically want to reach for the iron!😂. Love the tutorial too. Your skills are very much appreciated. Memory bear sewing is a little different to sewing clothes or quilts for sure. I'm so pleased you have found Betsy Bear 'fabulous'! You can remove the pins as you go if you prefer, it will just take a bit longer to sew.

You can remove the pins as you go. You definitely do not need to sew over your pins to be able to sew Betsy Bear, this is just the way that I do it
