How To Make A Mobile Lathe Cart | Woodworking How-To

This lathe cart is made out of 2 sheets of 3/4" plywood and less than half a sheet of 1/4" plywood for the drawer bottoms. The lathe stand is 30" high, 16" deep and 60" long.
I breakdown the plywood using my track saw and then assembled the whole case using the kreg pocket hole system. It's a quick and easy project you can knock out in a couple of weekends.

What brand/size castors did you use? Do you apply all 4 or just 2 of the brakes when using the lathe? I'd like to build a similar (but smaller) rolling cart for my small (metal) lathe. I've been checking the castor wheels in the home improvement store and they all seem to have some noticeable play. I'm just worried that even with all the brakes on the whole affair might end up not as solid/stable as I would like.

I am really confused...how do you space out the slides? I am building a similar cart, but with 5 three inch drawers a 5 inch drawer and a 7inch drawer. How do figure out where the slides go. I want a 1/16 or 1/8 spacing between fronts. I'd like the fronts for the smaller drawers to be the same height....thank you for any assistance you can provide.
