I wish I could figure out if THESE bits will work on doors (interior and exterior) as well? Those are 1 3/8" to 1 5/8" thick.. but can't seem to find specific bits that indicate a 1/4" panel seam/edge that work on doors. I am not a router pro (yet) so not sure if I can just adjust the height or something on these bits for thicker material. The bits no longer appear coated unfortunately. I was looking for Astra coated, but they all say Not coated. Hopefully they still can handle 1000s of cuts with minimal sharpening over the years. If these bits wont work with interior/exterior doors, what bits would be for that purpose?

I’m actually planning on buying a guitar with a poplar wood. Would staining poplar with amber be a good color?

I noticed right away some language of understanding. What is the difference between pore filling and 'grain' filling? Also at 2:15 I noticed the shellac coat, What is the reason for this shellac coat before the pore filler?

I'm curious why you use a router table for the raised panel rather than with a shaper?
@SimplecoveАй бұрын
Because I don't have a shaper...

I'm a longtime DiYer and retired electrician, but a relative novice when it comes to quality woodworking. This video was a great help giving me confidence to tackle cabinetry. I hate the look of shaker style and love raised panel. Started with some basic units for the garage and laundry room. My next project is to remodel the kitchen with all custom cabinetry.

I use spray9 in that black blade cleaning pan purple pad and brass or nylon brush...the longer you let it soak the better but never took longer that 5 minutes to loosen the thickest pitch. Most times I'll put a few blades in there at a time fill the pan over the blades and go do something else. Hour later if you have a slop sink I just rinse them off minimal if any scrubbing needed. Oh, just pour the cleaner back in the gallon, it's reusable.

Came to this video after a bad blotch incident. I still have the other side of the board so im hoping i can avoid it somehow on the other side, but its literally the whole board 😫😫. Im using a really beautiful warm mocha color and its truly gorgeous on the other boards so im hoping if the otherside isnt too bad, i can save it.

Can I use a clear grain filler over a nitrocellulose lacquer finish?

The color used in this example is exactly what I'm looking for. But I couldn't read the label on your can. The amazon link is for "nutmeg". Just wanted to confirm that before buying it.

No, they discontinued the stain and updated their Amazon listing to something different. I'm removing that link from my description

I plan to stain a bit of mahogany with Circa 1850 stain. I get the sense from this that you put the stain on, then the grain filler, then more stain. Is that right?

Thanks for the tutorial. I just did it making a banquette seating thing. It worked very well and was easy to do. You dont have to be careful to match wood species. It seems to make everything I used look the same....Oak, birch ply and poplar.

ima tremendous Fan of this Product it was actually the first Water based Product I ever used despite being a Professional Woodworker for over 35 years I used it on KitchenCountertops I built with a StainGrade White Oak Efging I inset on the Nosing I used the Polyacrylic over a Minwax Oil based Stain to match my Cabinetry and I put 8 coats of the Polyacryllic that stood up perfect for the 25 years I lived in that house I had one horizontal Surface that was used often for drinks hot and Cold to be left on and was in a location that always had Keys or many other Items dropped on it

I saw this jig and thought it was nice but not worth the money to me. I built a magnetic handle like theirs using pvc pipe and was planning to build something similar with a 5 gallon bucket, but spraying the blade with cleaner and scrubbing with a decent nylon or brass brush works good and really doesn't take long. Hard pass on purchasing this one
