Do you have a method to determine how much cord needed for different length cinches? Do you have a video for different designs then just diamonds? Thank you for such great videos!

Hi. Just wanted to say that your videos are very helpful. I was wondering if you weave mohair breastcollars and, if so, what supplies do you need. I've searched but I can't find anywhere that gives a list of needed supplies. Thanks for all your help.

Do you think it is possible to use paracord or other synthetic materials?
@aranchmom23 күн бұрын
I haven't tried it, but I am sure you could. I think if using synthetic materials, you would want to be extra careful with getting even tension so it doesn't sore a horse.

@@aranchmom Please tell me, is mohair elastic? Compared to paracord? And what do you think of jute or cotton cords, what would you prefer when you don't have mohair?

Hi, aone question from far away in Germany If I want to make an dressage / english cinch with two buckles on each side, do you still use one 8ply cord for all together or do you split it in two parts and put it together in one cinch by using the 2ply decoration cord ? I hope you know what i mean , my english might not be the best ;-) 😏🙃

Kay, thank for posting these videos! easy to follow and understand. I made a 19 strand one awhile back following yer directions and it turned out great. I have since done a 27 strand with someone else's directions and I didnt like it. specifically the the way they did the center part with the dee rings. never could get it to lay flat an spread the strands out. have you done 27 strands and if so would you consider posting a video showing yer methods? Thanks again for sharing yer knowledge!

How do you know how much rope for the different sizes of cinch?

I have a cinch cord calculator from Artcords.com

+Kay Schrock (aranchmom) Hi Kay, I am having the same challenge of figuring out how much 8 ply cord to use for a western cinch like Cory, and it's so expensive that I hate wasting any. I went onto Artcords.com and I can't seem to find a cinch calculator. When you reference using 47 feet to make a 17 strand cinch, do you remember what size cinch you made? Or can you be so kind as to give us some general guidelines, such as for 32" 17 strand cinch you need...., or a 28" 17 strand cinch you need... Or help in finding the Artcords one, would be so appreciated. Thanks, Trish
@aranchmom9 жыл бұрын
+Trish Terry I did some calculations for you - assuming you are making a 17 strand cinch, here is what you will need: 28" cinch = 42 ft 30" cinch = 44 ft 32" cinch = 47 ft 34" cinch = 50 ft Detailing cord - I don't have measurements, or any way of calculating that! :) I just keep records so I can look back and that helps. Hope that helps!

Wow! That helps so much!! Thank you sooo much, I really appreciate it. I wanted to post a pic of my 1st girth, because I couldn't have figured out how to do it without your great videos, but I couldn't figure out how. Darn

Where do you get the rings from? I’ve tried searching for “cinch rings” and “western cinch rings” but can’t find anything.

You can get them from Ubraidit.com. or weaver leather.

Hi there! Just got my mohair in, getting ready to make my cinch... and I am having trouble finding info on this and it’s probably a really dumb question I just don’t know 2 things about horses 😂! So I need to make about a 29” cinch, when making it, do you include the buckle in that 29” or exclude?!

Include it.

How did you make your stand?
@aranchmom7 жыл бұрын
My husband made it. :) A-frames from 4x4 wood on the ends, square iron tubing for the actual frame part on top. I am not a builder so I can't even explain it. :D The main tubing slides inside a bigger tube, and has holes where I can stick a pin (bolt) through at the right length. Then it has two tubing arms that come out and have hooks to hold the buckles.
