OMG, your work is awesome! We rescued two male cats two weeks ago and I decided to make both of them a harness using the stitched Solomon's dragon weave. They are a little bit on the larger size, so doing a custom size works out. One cat is 14 lbs and the other is 18.5 lbs.

Did you get permission from the designer to make a tutorial, or does it just not matter? Do you know the designer? Did you credit the designer?

hi there idok, i learned this knot 40 years ago in macrame class at school. we also made bracelets (now called friendship bracelets) with various colour cottons and jute into patterns with arrows, diamonds etc. back then this knot was called square knot, with all sorts of embellishments like beads, tassells, cords, stitching etc. we mostly made belts and pot hangers etc. i believe the Chinese first used macrame but not sure about who invented/designed it.

Your telling me it’s a square knot, but you’ve named it a “stitched Solomon’s dragon”. Like all the other tuts on this one. Some give credit some don’t. But my point is, that very few get permission. They just take, and figure that it’s OK.

@@Peacedonkeys Hi, I only got to 5:53 in the video so far and it suddenly struck me that if you added beads onto micro cord instead of the diamond purple one that it would look fancy for a small dog. So I thought I'd better check the comments first in case you provided a link for that. Well I don't know why this iidok put in their 2 cents, (worthless if you ask me) but I would love it if you would do a small dog collar and add beads to make it a little more glamorous since this is a fairly easy collar. Thanks for your consideration.

Heard from a vet recently that the buckles for bracelets are too strong for a cats collar and the cat can get hung up and strangled. The buckles for cats collars are special breakaway ones and will spring open when the full weight of a cat gets suspended on them. Something to be aware of

thanks for that robert. do you know what the 'special' ones are called? i wonder if the traditional adjustable store bought collars are any safer?
@jabtdesign5 жыл бұрын
They called the breakaway buckles. Cats can get stuck on trees etc. Of the collar doesn’t release they could choke themselves. I used an old collar buckle which I cut off from a store bought collar and only used micro cord. My cat wouldn’t tolerate the bulkier collar. I recently got cotton cords, very soft and perhaps you can do the same weaves as paracord, but it’s suits very well for cats or very small dogs 5lb and under. Btw, thank you for your amazing videos. Love them and learned a lot from them.

Add elastic so they can slip out if caught up on something, that's what I do.
