Nothing is more secure than a beaded chain with wrapped loop links. But it can be challenging to make a chain with consistently sized links. In this video I share my best tips for making perfectly symmetrical wrapped loop chain links and connector components.

Oh my god this is genius. Excellent tutorial, I can’t tell you how many I’ve watched. Nothing answered my question, why the hell wont this tail of the wraps sit properly when I snip the end. I use my pliers to squeeze and the wire goes upwards, not sitting snug next to the other wraps. This probably makes no sense but just know your tip of putting the bead on before you snip the end of the first wrap is 10000/10 thank you so much. You’re a hero

@Door44Studios2 жыл бұрын
You're so welcome! Glad you enjoyed this tutorial. I use Swanstrom super flush cutters. I bought mine from Rio Grande. They're pricey, but they'll definitely save you time and improve the quality of your work. Here's a link to the exact same cutters that I own: www.riogrande.com/product/swanstrom-super-flush-cutters/111717GP/?code=111717 My chain nose pliers are nothing fancy. They're EuroTool pliers that are nearly 20 years old now. They used to have different grips, but the glue on the original grips failed some time ago, so I replaced them with the comfort grips that I demonstrated in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/boTWk5eoqauXp5o My exact pliers are not longer available for sale, but the pliers that I recommend on my website are very similar. Here's a link to my resources page, which has links to all my favorite tools and resources for making wire jewelry: door44studios.com/resources/

I think I will make some rosary's for my friends after watching this video. Thank You. The only thing that I am confused about is how you make the loops in a different directions, because it looked like you made them all the same way.
@Door44Studios2 жыл бұрын
If you watch carefully, you'll see that I do actually alternate the orientation of my loops. I use the wire tail from the first loop to help me set up the correct orientation on the second loop. You can also just make all your loops without worrying about the orientation. Then, simply grip each loop with a pair of pliers and gently twist them into the correct orientation for whatever it is you're making. Sometimes you want the two loops facing the same direction (I do that often on earrings). And sometimes you need them to alternate, which is the case when making Rosaries.
@carolewilliams61772 жыл бұрын
Love this tutorial it’s very professionally finished. Only thing is I want to ask is does it matter where you put the bend as you don’t state how far down the wire it should be, this is just a me thing and if I can be precise I prefer it. Thank you for the tutorial xx
@Door44Studios2 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Carole. I'm so glad you liked this tutorial! I understand wanting to be very precise on your first bend. When I want to be very precise, here's how I do it: 1. Slide a bead onto a piece of pre-cut wire and center it on the wire. 2. Mark the wire at one side of the bead with a fine-point permanent marker. That mark is where you'll want to make your first bend. 3. Transfer the mark to your other pre-cut wires by laying the wires side-by-side and lining up all the ends evenly. Then mark all your other wires at once using your first wire as a guide.

@@Door44Studios I always put the bead on the center of wire - I'm very obsessed with precise measurements 😁BUT... And this is a BIG but! I never mark the place. I just hold the bead against the table, lift it, and then make the bend on the top part of the bead. The result, of course ((!) is asymmetrical wraps. There are 4 treasures for me in this video: Mark the chain nose plier (of course!! how didn't I thougth about this before?!) and this 1-2-3 above 🤗 I'm absolutely sure that my wrapped loops will be PERFECT from now on.
