I've tried a lot of instant ramen hacks on this channel, but this might be the best one yet. I love Japanese curry and ramen so mixing them together makes a lot of sense. This curry ramen can be put together in just a few minutes of prep and its absolutely delicious (if you like Japanese curry).
Ingredients (1 Serving)
1 Pack of Sapporo Ichiban Original Flavor Instant Ramen amzn.to/3dxOZ4I
1 segment of instant curry roux (I used vermont) amzn.to/31Jc1jQ
2 Cups (500ml) of Water
1/4 of an onion
80g thinly sliced pork belly
Green onions for topping
Directions
1. saute the thinly sliced pork belly in a pot.
2. when pork is cooked through add the onions and cook them til soft
3. add 2 cups of water and bring it back up to temperature
4. add the block of noodles and cook them for about 2 minutes or until they begin to separate
5. once the noodles have separated, turn off the heat and add in the soup pack and 1 piece of curry roux. stir them in. taste and add more curry if you feel it needs it.
6. once the soup pack and curry roux have dissolved, bring it back to simmer then immediately serve.
7. to serve, put the noodles at the bottom of a bowl then pour over the soup, pork and onions. top with green onions.

@@WayofRamen Ok I’m back sorry for the late update. I followed the video except I only used one curry block. Verdict: very good if you like the taste of Japanese curry (which I happen to love). It’s very rich, hardy, and comforting. I’ve never had curry ramen so it was a pleasure to have this flavor on a Monday before work. Thank you so much for translating this recipe for us! I also added a marinated egg for this bowl. I recommend doing that as well for a topping (though I found the onion and the pork belly was good enough).

Carrots will add sweetness, so it's up to you if that's a flavor you want in there

So I made this recipe and thought it was great. A couple of things I would do different though. First I think I would dip the pork belly in simmering water before frying to cut down on the pork smell. The second thing I did was add thinly sliced carrots to the water while it was heating up for the noodles. Next time I might also add small cubes of potatoes.

In not really sure how to do that but the noodles I make seem to try out when I just leave them exposed to air

I think I'm gonna try a variation of this but with ground pork instead of pork belly, can't really find pork belly easily, and Golden Curry, gonna try one block of that and edit this when I have it. EDIT: Yeah, this has absolutely NO business being as good as it is for how little effort it took. Absolutely fantastic!

Our uncle told us he'd be leaving us a box of Sapporo Ichiban packs the other day, and I was planning to make everyone in the family a bowl tomorrow since I had several Ajitama left from last week. Turns out he had an all Shio/Salt flavored box, so I'm now wondering if it's still possible to use this recipe or if I could even just use the recipe for your quick 10 minute Shoyu for this since I really want to get the curry craving to go away.

I think it will probably work though I never tried. I think in midnight diner on Netflix, the curry ramen was an instant shio ramen with curry on it.

I'm not that chatty on youtube, but I'm sorry that you had to deal with such toxic people in your discord server. Life's too short to complain about whether something's traditional or not. Just keep up with the amazing content you bring here and leave toxic people behind! Ur ramen looks amazing and, even though I'm from Sicily and it's kinda difficult to find japanese curry here, I'm looking forward to try some of these recipes. Just wanted to say I'm a big fan😌🌟

Thanks very much. I handed off the discord server to one of the mods and he's going to do a great job. The server will now be community owned and operated so they'll get to make it into whatever the want it to be.
