Excellent! I added 1/2 cup Imperial Pure Cane Sugar and two teaspoons vanilla extract. I put it on homemade vanilla ice cream (7 cups heavy cream, 2 cups whole milk, 3 cups Imperial Pure Cane Sugar, 2 tablespoons vanilla extract, 1/4 teaspoon Morton coarse kosher salt, churn in old-fashioned ice cream churn, set in freezer, if desired add crushed peppermint candy canes to some of the ice cream before freezing but reserve half or more as vanilla-only). Add whipped cream and maraschino cheery for garnish after ice cream and hot fudge to compete the hot fudge sundae.

What you can do to mix the dry in easily, is take some liquid out, put it in a bigger container, so that it doesn't go everywhere, and slowly add the cocoa to the wet ingredients. Then add it back into the saucepan.

Thank you for sharing this super simple recipe! I just made some and I used Special Dark cocoa powder and I can't stop eating it! The only thing I did different is used 1/2 & 1/2 because my store is out of heavy cream and I needed this in my stomach TONIGHT! I just cut back a little on the amount of cream to keep the thickness...I used 1/2 cup total of the 1/2 & 1/2.

i make what i call a "Death by chocolate" cake. It's a two layer chocolate cake that has a stiffened up hot fudge sauce separating the layers, then covered with a a chocolate ganache. when you cut a slice you place it on the plate on it's side and pour a scoop of the heated fudge sauce on top. unfortunately i lost my recipe for that fudge sauce, but this seems to have all the ingredients, and by watching you make it, it remnds me of how it was made as well. However, i don't recall the sultry voice coming with my original recipe card!

Normally buy Smuckers hot fudge. But didn't feel like driving to the store to buy some for my ice cream. 10/10 glad I didn't go to the store. I'd still like to be able to get that mouth feel chewiness, like Smuckers or McDonalds sundaes. Thanks for sharing this!

Can I use this on top of brownie as topping would the brownie get soggy?? BTW delicious recipe
@midcoastmunchies3 жыл бұрын
I'm sure you could sounds delicious! It's fairly thick so I don't think it would make them soggy but if you were worried about it I'd top them as they were served and they should be fine!

I would probably keep it refrigerated I wouldn't trust it with the butter and heavy cream in it.
@trustinJesus_only-_9 ай бұрын
you could can it though you might wanna look up some rebel canning for such a thing. I saw a video where someone rebel canned caramel made from sweetened condensed milk and did it in her crock pot. She made small jars of caramel that way. Pure genius.

hi i was wondering do you think adding dark cooking chocolate to this recipe would be a good idea? And if so, how much would you recommend I add? Also, can you reheat this? Thanks!
@midcoastmunchies2 жыл бұрын
If your into dark chocolate I say give it a try! I'm not sure since I haven't tried it myself but If it were me I'd start with around a regular chocolate bar size amount and mix until combined and then taste and add more if you think it's needed!
@midcoastmunchies2 жыл бұрын
And I'd try microwaving in small like 10 second intervals to reheat! Or if your on stove top I'd add a small amount of milk or water to the pot while reheating and stirring on low so it doesn't burn.

I always melt dark baking chocolate in my homemade hot fudge sauce. Either 60% or 70% bittersweet. They're great flavor and texture enhancers. For me, the sauce has to be very hot, dark and thick, poured on a rich vanilla ice cream.

How much does one stick of butter wight I'm in the UK and our butter comes in 250g blocks
@midcoastmunchies3 жыл бұрын
1 stick is around 113 grams so id say use a little under half of one of those bricks and you should be fine! 🙂
@lruz21022 жыл бұрын
1 stick of butter=8 tablespoons if you don't have a scale. None of the ingredients for a fudge sauce has to be precise since you're not trying to make fudge as a confection which is normally firm (unless you're making spoon fudge).
@SurfWhammy Жыл бұрын
In the US, one stick of butter is 4 ozs. or 1/2 cup.

I store it in a glass mason jar in the fridge and I'm sure it's good for atleast a week, but it's usually gone by then 😛

@@midcoastmunchies Interesting. I have never bought salted butter because it's difficult to control the salt when base ingredients are combined. Similar with garlic salt. If you want garlic, add garlic, if you want salt, add salt, not both combined. Oh well, different cooking approach. Thanks for the quick response. I made it with unsalted butter and whole milk (didn't have cream) turned out perfect!
@midcoastmunchies2 жыл бұрын
Totally agree with the garlic salt sentiment! Glad it still turned out good!

I have been baking professionally for 15 yrs now making all things sweet - cakes of all kinds, icing and fillings for said cakes, cookies, and candies, and always use salted butter, and add salt according to my recipes. There is not that much salt in salted butter to make your baked goods turn out salty or off tasting.

Ey ey ey ey there now enough is enough that is in Human you can't drag out the combining of 2 ingredients that is distraction with malicious intent Melted Butter and Condensed Milk there's nothing wrong with that maybe not in your world but in mine it is a whole different landscape i mean i named my cat's titty and Nipples i believe that over qualifies me in most case won't you agree there
