HOW TO MAKE A REALISTIC SCAR / Halloween & SFX Makeup

As both a beauty & sfx artist, please make sure to let your followers know how to properly use this product. If used incorrectly or for several days at a time it CAN ACTUALLY CAUSE SKIN DAMAGE. It also needs to be used in a WELL VENTILATED AREA, it's a liquid but its a chemical that is very strong and I suggest it would be best only for professional use.

@@lilie8484 Use "KRYOLAN COLLODION REMOVER" - you can peel it off but you may find it hurts in doing and the area becomes inflamed. Use the remover and just gently apply to the area and it will slowly evaporate.

My understanding is that this makeup is now illegal to use in Hollywood due to a large number of injuries sustained by actors probably resulting from improper usage back in the last century. The face of Tom Berenger's character "Barnes" in the film "Platoon" (1986)is a great example of the old technique, whereas Hera Hilmarsdottir's facial scarring in the film "Mortal Engines" (2018) is done completely with CGI.

Rigid Colodian is actually really dangerous if you use it incorrectly so don’t put on too many layers because it cloud damage the skin. It is safe to use but only if you use it properly ☺️💕

It can sting. It contracts the skin and in doing so is pinching the skin. When I first used it I got a small burning sensation - but there was no physical damage and after multiple applications I didn't notice it anymore. Use "KRYOLAN COLLODION REMOVER" to take it off. Just dab it on
