Another great video. Thank You for Sharing. Ive been watching your videos for awhile. I purchased Swiss Army Camper Pocket Knives for my Father, son and Myself last year because of your videos. I've been very happy with this knife. I was given a Swiss army knife when I was young. It has a ton of stuff on it. I always thought of them as a novelty items because I could not carry it in my pocket comfortably. I gave it to my son. Again, I would not have purchased another one because of that. 😎 i know the mushrooms but didn't know that 'ink caps' were ever actually used to make ink, figured the name came from it just looking a bit like ink. i've made quills out of feathers and bamboo, hadn't seen the trick of adding a reservoir before. Neat! Your reed pen works very well. Feathers don't work as well, don't hold much ink and are a little too bendy which can give you big drops of ink where you don't want them and could catch on the writing surface, sending little spatters of ink when they let go. Maybe they had some sort of trick to making the ink a little less runny for use with goose feathers. Pens were pretty easy. It was finding something to write on that could get a bit costly, at least in Europe. Thanks for another great 'how to', Felix! Good video Felix, you are truly great. After lockpicking, inkcap mushrooms. We haven't got them yet here, it's still too warm. I fry them in butter. I also use those that are starting blacking, I just clip the dark tips away. Poisoning if consumed in alcohol? Never heard of, but possible. What if I eat them with bread and beer? I'll try to do so and tell you the outcome. If I survive, of course.

Juhuu, das Federmesserchen voll im Einsatz ;-) Wie immer ein Genuß, Dir zuzuschauen, lieber Felix - und ich stell mir gerade vor, wie Du wohl so als mittelalterlicher Mönch in der Schreibstube rumgeschnitzt hättest ... wahrscheinlich außer Federn für alle Mönche und Nonnen zu schnitzen nebenher auch gleich noch das Chorgestühl mit Engelschnitzereien verziert, das Schreibpult für das Mittagsschläfchen zum Liegestuhl umfunktioniert, aus Wurzeln ein Kirchenglockenseil gewunden, diverse Pilze auf Essbarkeit und sonstige Anwendungen getestet, und so weiter ;-))) Ist ein tolles Projekt, und Federn schnitzen (allerdings aus echten Federn, nicht aus Rohr) war bei uns sogar im Kunstunterricht Thema, zusammen mit Schönschrift. Ist aber schon gaaanz lange her, heute kennt das wahrscheinlich kein Kunstlehrer mehr, da braucht es Dich! ;-) Für eine rasche Notfeder für kleinere Texte taugt aber auch jederzeit die Pinzette im Victorinox-Griff (außer bei Alox-Modellen, leider - aber da muss man dann halt immer ein Classic SD oder sowas zusätzlich mitnehmen). Also, klar: Pinzette leicht zusammendrücken, Spitze in Tinte tauchen, und dann schreiben (die Öffnung muss dabei vertikal verlaufen, sprich man schreibt mit der spitzen Kante). Wird manchmal ein Gekleckse, aber es geht. Und ganz ähnlich kann man auch Öl tropfen - Pinzette zusammengedrückt in Öl tauchen, die Spitze an passender Stelle aufsetzen und die Notöler-Pinzette ggf (je nach Viskosität erforderlich) ganz leicht öffnen, und schon ist die Ölung erfolgt ;-). Du hast ja einige Deiner Pinzetten (oder alle?) spitz geschliffen, keine Ahnung, ob es mit denen dann auch so gut geht, aber mit den Originalbelassenen funktioniert das astrein ...;-) Liebe Grüße aus Indien, Robert

Great video. In Spanish an ink pen it is call feather (pluma) because in the past they are made with feathers. And the usual word to call a pocket folding knife is «cortaplumas» it means feather cutter, because the people who write with feather needs a little knife in his pocket to sharpen the feather point. Those mushrooms are not looks like the eatable ones, but I'll check it out. I hope, it is safe. Its a spring kind of mushroom, in so deep autumn I am not sure, if they are growing. I was in the trip in the forest previous Saturday, but we was sitting in the old tampliers castle, so in such so exotic tripping I wasn't able to try this trick. But VERY INTERESTING, AS ALLWAYS! I am waiting for Sentinel, when it comes, it will be my big celebration of SAK!

If have some hide glue you could make some makeshift chinese ink(aka indian ink) from fine soot(from burning pine resin or just an amount of oil). Although it’s millennia-old technology, I would expect some brilliant idea it it come through you.
