HOW TO BOTANICALLY DYE AND SEW YOUR OWN SCRUNCHIE | NATURAL DYE
How do you make homemade scrunchies?
how do you make a beginner scrunchie?
what materials do you need to make a scrunchie?
How do you dye fabric with flowers?
How do you bundle dye?
Which plants and vegetables make the best dye?
How do you dye fabric naturally?
Bundle dyeing is one of the most fun and satisfying ways of using plant matter to transfer colour to your fiber. The results are literally pure magic and the nature of this process makes it perfect for professional projects or fun family activities.
Natural dyes are often described as “living colours” and it’s true. They have a charm and personality very unlike synthetic dyes with the much higher energetic frequency of life … and love if you’re into that kinda thing!
They are really easy to work with and non-toxic which is a big draw for a lot of people. They will never have the same permanence as synthetic dyes, they often change or vary over time, they are always dancing and they dance especially harmoniously together.
Bundle dyeing with plants can really open up your creativity. It encourages play and experimentation whilst deepening your relationship to nature and it’s alchemy.
BillyNou is about the wonderful process of natural dyeing I do for my brand, life, motherhood and the trails and errors of making and crafting.
I’d like to inspire others to become more conscientious, to find a connection with nature and benefit from this immense and totally accessible energy.

I’ve been told many many times in life that as a proud long curly haired man that there is no appropriate way to wear my hair up. To that I respond by using scrunchies and scarves and bows and clips. It’s my hair and wearing it to express myself helps me love me. I’d be honored to rock your scrunchies!

I recently found your KZbin channel and have been avidly catching up on all your past videos. Natural dyeing is so interesting to me and I've recently tried avocado dyeing using your tutorial, I found it a really therapeutic process to be honest too. I'd love to give bundle Dyeing a go and dust off my sewing machine to make myself something that I can pass down to my daughter later too.

I would love and be so grateful for this kit as an instrument for teaching my daughter and her friends about botanical dyeing. We love foraging in nature for wild local berries seasonally along with mushrooms and herbs in nature. We've recently done onion, polypore mushrooms, avocado pits and skins and wild berries into dye baths for tidying with wonderful success. I would love to use this for an upcoming online tea party craft tutorial for my daughters friends and their mothers to share thi gor gorgeous product and then to use the seeds for next spring's garden. I enjoy your channel so much. Please continue sharing the peaceful, natural methods with the world. Its beneficial to slow down and appreciate the things we've been given in nature and could easily overlook. Thank you!

I would loooove to win a kit! Ever since watching your channel I’ve fallen in love with botanical dyeing. I’ve used almost all of your methods (soya milk, planting my own indigo, and bundle dyeing, avocado dye, etc.) After a year of therapy for panic attacks and depression, I’ve found your videos, and this hobby to be something that has really grounded me. I’ve tried purchasing some of your products before when I’ve had a little extra and they have been sold out. So I would love to have one of your kits! PS my husband and I love to watch your videos to relax at the end of the day! (We live in Oklahoma!) Thank you for your videos! They are greatly appreciated!

I would love to have one for my 10 year old granddaughter. You see, I’m Dutch, living in the Netherlands and normally I’m visiting the children frequently since their grandfather passed away. We do a lot of craftswork together, like acrylic pouring too. I would love to do this with her as well, but in connection with corona I think, I will not be able to visit them for a longer period of time. Wouldn’t it be great if my granddaughter could learn to dye such a scrunchy with this kit and the tutorial herself?! ( I watch you on youtube and do a lot of botanican dyeing at home. Love it!!)

Hello. Natural dyes are definitely not like synthetic dyes but certain processes can aid in colour fastness and longevity, like mordanting and gentle after care. It’s nice to try and reevaluate ones relationship to colour while working with natural dyes.... eg is it really a bad thing if the colours fade or change over time? I’ve got a few ebooks available you might be interested in if you want a little more info 😊
