You HAVE to put the large washer there to hold the bearing because they are SO CHEAP, that the "seal" pops out if you look at it wrong and the balls fall out!! Ask me how I know. IMHO, your inside diameter on the large washers should be as close as possible to the bolt diameter so it doesn't allow the bearing shield to pop out. If you use a 5/8" bolt, the washer inside diameter should be 3/4".
